Eine Hütte in exponierter Lage umgeben vom Gletscher. Leider liegt der Fokus auf dem Geldverdienen und nicht auf dem Wohl der Hüttenbesucher. Informationen über Wetter- und Wegbedingungen gibt es angeblich nicht oder werden zurückgehalten, was eine große Gefahr werden kann. Auf dem Anstieg zur nächsten Hütte wurden wir von einem Bergführer darauf hingewiesen, dass der für den nächsten Tag geplante Abstieg nicht begangen werden kann, da viel zu viele Gletscherspalten offen liegen. Am Abend zuvor wurden wir aber von dem Personal der Gnifettihütte gedrängt, die nächste Hütte schon im Voraus voll zu bezahlen (mehrere Hütten gehören zu einem Verbund), obwohl laut Bergführer der kommende Hüttenabstieg schon länger nicht mehr ohne extrem hohes Risiko begehbar ist. Hier wollte man die volle Summe abkassieren (115 € pro Person), da wir mit dem Wissen niemals aufgestiegen wären (unsere Route war dem Hüttenpersonal bekannt). Wir fühlen uns abgezockt! Es ist eine schöne Region, aber bei den nächsten Touren werde ich die Gnifettihütte nicht mehr besuchen.

Information about weather and trail conditions is said to be non-existent or withheld, which can become a major risk. On the climb to the next hut, we were told by a mountain guide that the descent planned for the next day could not be made because far too many crevasses were exposed. The night before, however, we were urged by the staff of the Gnifetti hut to pay in full in advance for the next hut (several huts belong to an association), although according to the mountain guide the coming hut descent has not been passable for some time without extremely high risk. Here they wanted to collect the full amount (115 € per person), because we would never have ascended with the knowledge (our route was known to the hut staff). We feel ripped off! It is a beautiful region, but on the next tours I will not visit the Gnifetti hut.
