Upon arriving at the property, we were immediately struck by its charm and beautiful views. The well-maintained surroundings set a positive tone for our visit, and our first impression was quite good. Our adventure began at the restaurant's wine tasting area, where we inquired about a walk-in tasting. We were pleasantly surprised when the staff promptly confirmed that it could be arranged. We took this opportunity to explore the property while they prepared a table for us, which demonstrated a commendable level of hospitality. When we returned, a table was ready, and we were seated with the menu card in hand. However, we experienced a bit of a delay as we waited over ten minutes before anyone came by to take our order. Once we were attended to, we selected two wine tastings, some cheese, and water, excited to enjoy the offerings. Unfortunately, when our wine glasses arrived, they bore evidence of their recent trip through the dishwasher, arriving slightly wet. Moreover, the bottle of water was simply placed on the table without serving. While the wine tasting provided a general description of the selections, we had anticipated a more in-depth experience. Despite the initial enthusiasm sparked by the amazing Rose and other offerings we had sampled, the lack of a deeper tasting experience ultimately dampened our eagerness to purchase wine. Initially, we were ready to buy up to six bottles, but the experience fell short of our expectations. In summary, while the property and initial service were promising, the wine tasting experience itself lacked the engagement and depth we hoped for. We left with mixed feelings, as the beautiful setting and potential were evident, but the execution could use some refinement, passion and...

While visiting from Miami, we were stunned by this absolutely beautiful stunning historic winery in a castle high above hills of Greve Chianti region. i did a lot of research 1 month prior to coming reading about various vineyards and which ones were most hospitable by Trip advisor google etc so we choose here and booked a private tour and wine tasting online easily 1 week prior. The staff was warm, very hospitable and knowledgeable/ passionate about their wineries history and we had a wonderful 1 hour tour of this beautiful castle with breathtaking views of Tuscany hills and vineyards.

Mateo was our private guide 11am and he was great, knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the complex amd intricate processes behind DOCG Chianti requirements and standards for their wine and in general for all local Chianti vineyards.

He was patient and very kind and what i liked about this winery castle is their history and passion for producing great chianti and chianti Riserva.

In regards to wine tasting, we enjoyed all the 4 varieties surprisingly even the Rose wine which i tend not to like. We ordered 12 bottles to be shipped Florida and USA shipping cost vas very very reasonable compared to other vineyards we visited.

I chose not to do a “large group bus tour chianti tasting tour” bc i wanted to individually choose which vineyards to visit esp those w history and hospitality and i could not be any with the choice of Castello Di Verrazzano.

Highly recommend visiting this beautiful estate and enjoy your time there (recommend 2 hours minimum and Recommend u email them 2 weeks (if u can) ahead to get rsvp ahead of time for private cellar tour and 4 wine tasting which is much better and well...

Today we went to Castello di Verrazzano. We had read a lot of good review about it but our experience was more than Disappointing for the following reasons:

  1. the tour per say is very average. If you have done a wine trip anywhere else in the world, this won’t be a patch on it.
  2. the wines are ok to good, not great.
  3. we were with a 14 year old kids and initially booked a light meal - which possibly was the right thing to do. My husband wasn’t drinking as he is driving. The team confirmed to us the cost saying, approx 9 euros will be reduce from the adult package without wine and the 14 year old will be charged on kids rate. Today when we reached, we were talked into moving to a full lunch experience. Costs were confirmed verbally saying adult without wine will be 9 euros less and the 14 year old (who was having only pasta with tomato) will be charged at kids rate. At the time of paying however, they changed the stance and charge adult rates for the kid. So in effect we paid approx 60 euros for a plate of tasteless pasta. We could see the team discussing it but the guy who was billing was adamant. So net net - have everything in writing before confirming.
  4. at the time of booking, they said different olive oil tasting will be a part of the experience, which it wasn’t.
  5. the view are great, but you would have less tha 5 minutes to capture them as this is a private property and you have to follow the guide.
  6. Food overall is below average - quite a surprise as general food experience in Tuscany so far has been amazing. So net net - have everything in writing before confirming. Overall-quite a missable experience. Hope this can help some people, esp the ones...
