I visit Tuscany often, but there's only one place I return to year after year and that's Monte Bernardi. It's the whole package: the people are so warm and knowledgeable (shoutout to Michael, Jacy, Chiara, Paula, Rosanna), the place and the views are unmatched, and the wines are always stunning. Oh, and the olive oil is the best.
We also rented Villa Monte Bernardi this year with a small group of friends for a week. It's the most perfect place. It's an absolutely beautiful restoration, well-equipped to cook together, large common areas, and there's plenty of nooks for privacy when you want some. The grounds and the pool are just idyllic. We'll do this again for sure.
Thank you team MB. We can't wait to...
Read moreMy brother and I signed up for a virtual wine tasting with Michael Schmelzer having come across him in a Biodynamic wine-making course. We were based in the UK so we ordered some wines ahead of time and they arrived quickly. On the night - samples opened! - Michael took us for a virtual tour of Monte Bernardi with an in-depth look at his biodynamic farming processes and tasting notes to accompany the wine. The wine was delicious and Michael a very engaging speaker and we thoroughly enjoyed the session leaving us with the desire to visit Monte Bernardi in person...

I poured the rest into a clear pitcher and found a cloudy sediment toward the bottom of the bottle. Very disappointed. We left the other bottle in the room of the apartment we were renting in Elba. Hopefully no one has the experience we had after having...
