Oasi wwf lago di Alviano — Attraction in Guardea

We had a beautiful morning! We were advised to visit the Oasis by the owner of the B&B. We decided we wanted to go for a walk, but we ended up birdwatching. It was something we never did before, but was some of the most peaceful things we did. The people from WWF were very nice and open to us. They even showed us different birds that habit and visit the Oasis using a telescope. In the end we walked through the muddy path so make sure to bring good hiking shoes. The best organised birding site I have been to. There are about 8 hides in well appointed positions around the lake, with various different habitats to observe different species of birds. The staff are very friendly and helpful. On days when the Oasi is shut, you can make a reservation and pick up the key at the bar near the entrance. Bellissima oasi, veramente ben tenuta, con sentieri puliti e fruibili per chiunque, e capanni di avvistamento comodi e con pannelli istruttivi utilissimi. Il primo sentiero é breve ed offre molti capanni affacciati sullo stesso lato della palude, un'aula didattica ed una torre attualmente chiusa dalla quale si osservano le praterie allagate. Nella torre si é insediata una colonia di pipistrelli, quindi per non disturbarli hanno deciso di chiudere l'accesso. Il secondo sentiero viene chiamato "vecchio sentiero" é molto lungo ma agevole e ci abbiamo impiegato quasi 3 ore per percorrere tranquillamente tutto il perimetro del lago. Per accedervi occorre chiedere la chiave dei lucchetti in biglietteria, in quanto lungo il percorso si incontrano 3 cancelli. Si incontra solo un capanno, ma si attraversa un bel bosco igrofilo costeggiando il fiume Tevere e la palude e sulla diga di terra c'é un bel punto di avvistamento. L'oasi é fruibile solo di domenica tranne nei mesi estivi quando chiude. Il prezzo di € 6 per gli adulti é irrisorio considerando la ricchezza di specie di uccelli che si possono incontrare senza tralasciare mammiferi, rettili ed anfibi.
