Spiaggia Rosa is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with its stunning pink sand and clear turquoise waters. The beach is located on the tiny island of Budelli in the Maddalena archipelago off the coast of Sardinia. It is a protected area, so visitors can only admire it from a distance. However, even from a boat, it is clear why Spiaggia Rosa is so popular. It is a truly...

So sad view. The beach is not pink anymore - water is still trasparent. Anchors destroyed the vegetation and the small pink shrimps living on it - those that made the beach pink. I saw the beach more than 10 years ago and it was really pink. Sardegna Region should do its best to protect the area - and tourists should be more polite with nature and...

This beautiful beach used to have pale pink sand maybe 20 years ago, as a result of pink-shelled microorganisms. Unfortunately, tourists and vandals started to dig out the sand and transport it abroad. As a result of this, the local sardinian government has limited its access, in order to allow these microorganisms to...

Outstanding beach with soft white/pink sand and clear turquoise water. The pale pink pigment originates from the foraminifera, a coral insect that lives in the reefs. When their lives come to an end, they wash up onto shore, creating a rosy hue in the sand.
