Società Agricola Fratelli Urbani — Attraction in Lucca

We absolutely loved our time here! My husband and I were visiting Lucca on our honeymoon and he found this place when researching wine tastings. We rode our bikes out to the vineyard where we were greeted with water and a warm welcome. We were given a small tour of the vineyard/cellar and a brief presentation of the annual winemaking/vine-tending process. Then we had a beautiful little covered table among the vines where we were given four wines, some information about each, and a lovely little platter of food before they left us to enjoy. They even brought out a few more plates of bites of eat (including a tasting of their olive oil and a neighbor’s local honey) and a glass of Merlot to drink! The team was so friendly and the atmosphere was so peaceful. We ended up buying a few bottles of very reasonably priced wines (our favorite was the white blend). Wow. We had an a amazing day at this family run vineyard. We cycled from Lucca (it is a short distance, about 15 mins on the bike). The staff are genuine and welcoming. We got an interesting tour and we chose the picnic option which was honestly absolutely delicious. The picnic comes with rugs and cushions and you can walk to anywhere in the vineyard or olive grove to pick the perfect spot. The picnic comes with 2 medium size bottles of nice wine. We visited this winery today and had a wonderful experience! We were warmly welcomed by the hosts at this dedicated family winery. After being briefly introduced to their history and the winemaking process, we got to try the wines at a table set up in the middle of the vineyard. The wines were very nice and the food pairings are plentiful! Definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a taste of Tuscan...
