Tenuta Ammiraglia - Frescobaldi — Attraction in Magliano in Toscana

An incredible experience visiting one of the Frescobaldi wineries! One of the newest ones, the building looks digital and unusual for this region. Most Frescobaldi estates are historic castles with a lot of history. And the exception is Tenuta di Ammiraglia: it was built from scratch. The modern winery resembles a ship and is located near the sea—in Maremma, on the southern coast of Tuscany. They planted French Syrah vines here, hoping for delicate red wines, but the hot climate and abundant sunshine resulted in wines that were too alcoholic and lacked balance. The solution was unexpected and beautiful. Lamberto drew parallels with Provence—the climate, grape varieties, and the resort atmosphere of Maremma strongly reminded him of the French Riviera. This led to the production of stunning rosé wines. Additionally, you can purchase here bottles from other Frescobaldi estates. It was an incredible experience! We were a group of 8 people celebrating our friend’s hen, we decided to spend part of the day at this Tenuta and it was a great decision! The tour lasts around 40 minutes and they show you around, then you can enjoy the tasting in their restaurant. We selected Option 2, we were a bit concerned we wouldn’t haven eaten much, yet the food was delicious and definitely enough! We would highly recommend this place, and it’s totally worth the money. Il posto è incantevole, la degustazione è molto curata, spendendo 40€ si possono degustare tre tipi di vino con un abbondante tagliere composto da prodotti di qualità che produce l'azienda. Unico appunto, per il quale non posso lasciare la quinta stella, è (forse una svista di quel giorno che con gli altri membri del gruppo non abbiamo potuto non notare) riguardante la presenza della simpatica cagnolina della tenuta che ci è sembrato girasse troppo liberamente tra gli ospiti seduti all'interno della sala mentre si procedeva alla degustazione. Non tutti gli ospiti potrebbero sentirsi a proprio agio con un musetto che elemosina cibo o coccole mentre si sta mangiando. Purtroppo durante la visita, per raggiungere i tini per la fermentazione, lungo il marciapiede due persone del mio gruppo hanno pestato delle deiezioni canine che per fortuna erano lì da qualche giorno, non so se considerarlo un fattore positivo o non. Poco più avanti lungo delle scale (sempre all'interno della cantina) sono stati notati dei ricordini lasciati palesemente da cani maschi. Per non parlare di una signora che partecipava alla degustazione accompagnata da un barboncino spesso senza guinzaglio, libero di scorazzare insieme alla femminuccia negli spazi della cantina o tra gli altri ospiti.
