Really interesting but also challenging hike. The 15B (red) route heads down to the right from the carpark and quickly you find yourself crisscrossing the river which is sometimes possible without getting wet other times not so much 😉. There are many small pools along the way, some big enough for a refreshing dip but not really swimming. Lots of climbing/scrambling up and along steep rocks and narrow tracks. Well placed chains and bolted steps to assist, but hikers need to be reasonably fit and confident to complete safely.
The route can be completed as a loop, or out and back. The route marking is mostly good, although it seems to ‘go missing’ on the second half of the hike after you see the largest waterfall and commence a steep climb up an extended rock face.
No maps or signs indicating the length so it became a bit frustrating as we got tired and water supplies got low. Only saw one drinking water tap and we weren’t sure if the water in the river was safe to drink.
Hiking with an 8yo, it took us 6 hours in total, including a few swims and breaks.
Overall a really enjoyable and recommended hike, just make sure you are...
Read moreThis was an incredible loop hike with breathtaking views across the mountains with countless waterfalls and plunge pools!
We went in September and barely saw anyone the whole way. It was quite challenging in parts on the way up (my partner and I are very active and healthy, but still found some parts quite intense!), with steep rock faces and uphill climbs, but there are chains to hold onto and metal footholds too. We were lucky to go on a dry day, I wouldn’t recommend it on a wet day if you’re not an experienced hiker, as some parts are quite precarious with steep drops down. There were lots of waterways to cross too, so make sure you have appropriate footwear! You can swim in the beautiful pools, they’re so refreshing but very cold. The way down was much easier and you come across an old church with a stunning view. The hike is clearly marked the whole way there and back.
Timewise, we started at about 1pm and stopped for multiple swims and lunch and returned at about 6pm. Our pace wasn’t slow, so I’m very impressed by the person who said they completed...
Read moreAn amazing place to hike, If, the weather allows it. Its actually one of the hardest hikes I've ever seen so far (red trail). The path is easy to follow from the tiny parking space (space for like 8 cars) but definitely worth it. At certain moments after an hour hike you will see some chains which you will need to cross some rocks. Make very sure to bring strong sturdy boots and good clothing to protect yourself from slipping or hurting yourself too bad. The current of the water is also pretty strong. According to locals its around 2/3h till end and a bit less to come back (so around max 4/5h going up and down). Didn't make it up because our road was blocked by heavy rain.
Please make sure not to bring your dog along, because this path is most definitely not safe for your dog or...
