This hike is fantastic, do not miss this incredible experience when you are in Amalfi. We stayed in Massa (Lubrense), and picked up the hike from the town of Nerano, trailhead is off via America Vespucci. Use the first parcheggio you encounter driving into town (takes only 💶 euro tokens 1€ = 30 min, which sucks but oh well). Follow the main road down, you’ll pass Olga Residences, an alimentari where I picked up some fruit and chips for the hike. Straight ahead off the asphalt main road there’s a footpath that goes uphill—this is the trailhead, take it. There’s a small ceramic square with a yellow lemon 🍋 on it, but you can easily miss it. Not to worry: climb steadily uphill. You pass a big pink archway (with a ceramic plaque dedicated by a Norman Douglass) . Continue up the hill past it, fantastic views. Pass Madonna sanctuary with green coin donation box. Keep goIng, pass thru an olive grove. Opens up on fantastic views of dramatic escarpment. Choice is yours: left down to Norman tower, or turn Rt. And make the steep descent down to public beach). Only people I passed were millennial two-some tourists and old Italian guys wearing speedo swim suits and nothing else except brown loafers. Enjoy! Fitness hike can do in 1-2hrs our and back, but I recommend taking your time and make it a full afternoon. NOTE: this walk/hike is in the full sun. I went on a day in lat Sept when it was overcast (which was optimal) but in retrospect would not prevent me from doing the hike, it was breathtaking in...

Okay, let's clear things. It's rather an hour to get there from the trailhead. Towards the end it's steep, veeery rocky path, prepare with proper shoes(at least that's what we experienced when followed the signs, but haven't seen any other pathway). Once you get down there,it's a nice little beach, rocky shore, but it's fine. Since it's a natural habitate, there is no toilet facility,or any similar service. When we were there, there was a good amount of jellyfish, as the sun lowered, more of them came more close to the surface, got some really painful bites. This jellyfish risk was not mentioned anywhere as a factor to be aware of,otherwise probably I would think twice to do the hiking tour to the beach, and being hit by one of them. Light brown colored jellys, other then the pain and irritation to my skin (and my mood), nothing serious. Some boats visited the bay, during the day, when one of them aproached the beach irritating close, someone from the building above the bay, commanded them to leave,or keep bigger distance. Good to know at least there is someone keeping an eye on the bay. And then the climb on...

A short but steep hike to get to the beach, and the same short steep ascent to get back to the car. It was totally worth it. The journey down provides breathtaking views of the coast and you can even see the faraglioni of Capri in the distance.

At the destination, we were rewarded with clear blue waters where we could see fish swimming around. There was no space left on the natural beach so we situated ourselves on a man-made platform which worked out even better because it is absolutely clean and without the torture of the sand and pebbles of the beach. In addition, we were close to the edge of the platform where one could jump straight into the sea. Not forbiddingly high, but high enough for a good dose of adrenaline on every jump.

Clean, well maintained, and in the afternoon it’s also serviced by a boat-shop where they provided coffee, ice cream, can drinks and snacks.

My advise: go early, the earlier the better. Parking spots are limited, and obviously you’ll have a better chance to get a spot...

Ieranto Bay is one of the most beautiful bays of the Italian peninsula, with its crystal waters and nature is the perfect place where to go on a weekday to relax in the sun and take a bath. Since I am from here, I would suggest you to go in the morning and leave in the late afternoon before it gets dark: the way there from the bus stop is about 25/30 mins and the way back (given the altitude and the tiredness after an entire day of beach) is around 40/45 mins. So make sure to leave when it's getting dark in the evening to not be stuck there in the night because there are no lights! Last advice is to wear comfortable shoes, pack light and pay attention to the sea and the land because the Bay is part of a marine protected area and has to be respected to keep it this beautiful forever!

This hidden beach is simply wonderful. How to get there: The starting point is Nerano. Buy some water and 🥪 sandwiches here. From here, one has to walk for about 45 minutes to get to the beach. In the beginning, the path is pretty straight. Then, it goes down pretty steep. I recommend to wear sport shoes and no sandales nor flip flops. At the beach 🏖️: Congratulations, you found paradise. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of shade here. Bring a beach umbrella for protection from the sun. Also, you can sit close to the rocks. When to go: Go early in the morning or in the late afternoon. I suggest to avoid mid-day at all cost. It gets too hot. We walked back mid-day and it was simply too hot. Enjoy this magical place.
