Absolutely unforgettable experience at Uccelliera — a true gem among Montalcino's family-owned wineries. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn't just a wine tasting; it was being welcomed into someone's home, into their life's work, and into the soul of their land. We had the rare opportunity to taste not only the current vintages of Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino, but also past vintages that beautifully showcased how gracefully these wines age. Each bottle told a different story — vibrant and energetic in youth, evolving into something profoundly elegant and layered with time. But the real magic happened in the cellar — tasting straight from the barrel. That's when you truly feel the heartbeat of the winery. Watching the next vintages come to life, guided by the skilled and passionate hands of the family, gave an entirely new dimension to understanding the wines. It's intimate. Raw. Honest. The wines are stunning — powerful yet refined, balancing deep structure with expressive fruit and earthy Montalcino character. Uccelliera's Brunello is world-class, but the Rosso di Montalcino also punches far above its weight, offering incredible complexity and charm. What sets Uccelliera apart isn't just what's in the glass, though — it's the people. Warm, genuine, and deeply passionate, they embody everything that makes Tuscan winemaking so special. This visit was the highlight of our Montalcino trip, and honestly, one of the best wine experiences we've ever had. If you're in Montalcino, do not miss Uccelliera. Come for the wine. Stay for the people. Leave with your heart full and your...
Read moreI had a very nice and fruitful visit to this winery in this February. We felt honoured to receive the greeting from the owner and his wife. Matilde, the winery staff, gave us an in-depth visit of the winery and explained in great details about the terroir, Uccelliera wine making and the owner's philosophy in making their wines, which was really impressed me. After an extensive tasting, I found that the Uccelliera wines really stand out their characters and wine making philosophy. Their wines are quite elegant with essential Montalcino style and yet truly reflecting the terroir of where the Uccelliera wines are from. Overall, I fully enjoyed the visit and most importantly...
Read moreBeautiful family winery. The owners were very welcoming and the guide for our tour and wine tasting was both knowledgeable and friendly. We spent a wonderful afternoon exploring wines at different stages and comparing different years. They had some beautiful wines as well as some of the best olive oil we have had while in Italy. We would highly recommend spending some time here and experiencing what they have to offer. The passion everyone who works there has for their craft...
