Máté Winery — Attraction in Montalcino

We had a wonderful time at this winery, with a lovely, very educational and private tour by Jessica who was warm and personable! It’s easily accessible by car and the painstakingly organically produced wines are delicious. We were able to try (and buy) from a great and affordable range of vintages with even a couple of surprises. You can see how much Jessica loves the wines and believes in the Mate philosophy. Our loved ones have also loved the wine when we share over meals back home.

Our experience at Máté Winery was the best we had in Tuscany. Peter was not only a knowledgeable host, but also an engaging conversationalist who spoke with a genuine passion for his work. Visited about 10 wineries around Montalcino and enjoyed this tour the most. The scenery and garden are breath taking. On my request Jessica skipped the standard Montalcino/Sangiovese/Brunello talk and went into depth about the history of the winery, the location, the style of the wines and could also answer our questions with a lot of surprising information.
