What a special day. We visited Pieriboni, but not in a way I would EVER suggest. We walked from the Stazione in Montebello! About 1 hour and 6 minutes. Beautiful but long, long, long. We are living in Vicenza for a while, and without a car. We found there is a bus that will drop you off 5 minutes from the winery! Duh!
Giovani and his brother, Lorenzo, dropped everything (harvest was just finished and they were hard at work doing what wine makers do!) to give us a tour (tasting the raw grape juice out of the vat) as well as a tasting, and bread and cheese.
They are VERY proud of the wine they make, and rightfully so. It is fantastic. We bought 12 bottles (some bubbly, some “merlot” and some white of the local grape grown only between Vicenza and Verona.

Read moreWe stopped at this winery in February, did not warn in advance, and therefore were very impressed by the hospitality of the hosts, they put off all matters and arranged for us to taste a fine wine and spent several hours with us in a pleasant conversation. Highly recommend this winery to visit. Three brothers, the owners of the winery, are in love with what they are doing, and therefore the wine is so harmonious and pleasant. I especially liked Valscura. The guys cut us sausages for wine, and apologized for not being prepared for our arrival, as they usually treat visitors more plentifully during the season.
