The best mid-sized family-run winery I came across during my wine-tasting adventures in Tuscany this summer. There is a couple who have played a major hand in running the winery for the last 16 years and who could not be friendlier to visiting North Americans (her English is very good and she tries hard to explain everything as best she can). Our host was very engaging and obviously knew her stuff, I'm embarrassed to admit I've forgotten her name though, and I'm not sure she appreciated my joke asking if they had any Valpollicella to take back home. Apologies for my English sense of humour. Must've been the wine!
