A Memorable Experience
I recently had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting event hosted by the incredibly talented Fredrico(I hope I spelled it correctly), and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. Fredrico's vast knowledge and passion for local wines made the evening truly remarkable.
The wine tasting consisted of five different red wines, each carefully selected to showcase the diverse flavors and characteristics of the region. As we delved into each glass, Fredrico took us on a journey through the rich history and intricacies of the wines, providing insightful details that enhanced our appreciation.
One of the highlights of the evening was the accompaniment of local cheese and meat. The pairing was expertly done, allowing us to explore the delightful interplay between the flavors of the wines and the delectable assortment of artisanal cheeses and savory meats. The combination elevated the entire tasting experience, creating a harmonious symphony of tastes that left a lasting impression.
The selection of wines curated by Fredrico was simply exceptional. From the first sip to the last, each wine showcased the craftsmanship and dedication of the local winemakers. The flavors danced on our palates, ranging from bold and robust to elegant and nuanced. Fredrico's expertise shone through as he described the vineyards, grape varietals, and winemaking techniques employed, making the tasting all the more captivating.
So impressed were we by the quality and depth of the wines that we couldn't resist purchasing a case of red wine to take home with us. Fredrico's ability to passionately convey the story behind each bottle, combined with the memorable taste experience, convinced us that these wines were something truly special. It was a testament to his skill as a host and the power of the wines themselves.
In summary, the wine tasting with Fredrico was a truly exceptional experience. His extensive knowledge, captivating storytelling, and impeccable selection of wines made for an unforgettable evening. If you have the opportunity to attend one of his tastings, I highly recommend it. Prepare to be enthralled by the world of local wines and leave with a newfound appreciation for the artistry and beauty that lies within...
Read moreArriving late afternoon, about 4pm, we were welcome at the door. We didn’t have a booking and were concerned but they were able to make accommodations once they finished a tour. We were given a brut while waiting (no cost).
Once inside for the wine tasting we were made to feel at home, no assumption about our wine knowledge and welcomed us asking questions. Tasting can be done in English.
We had tasted 6 wines and a desert wine and purchased multiple bottles, including the desert. Their style of wine making doesn’t have an extreme contrast in flavor but is very subtle and a traditional way of making. A great experience!
Unfortunately I didn’t take photos indoors or of the exterior without my partner. The indoors is small, but cozy. Wines on display with seating for drinks. Outside space with umbrellas and seating overlooking their vineyards. Renovations of the exterior (cosmetic)...
Read moreEnjoyable, interesting, informative (though quite short) tour finished-off with a relaxed tasing of 5 of their wines paired with some delicious local meats, cheeses and traditional 'biscuits'.
Only three other guests on the tour with me meant that my visit felt very personal and that we had plenty of opportunity to ask our own questions.
Only about 20minutes drive from the centre of Verona but only practically accessible by car, so if you don't have one it means a EUR25 taxi journey. On our visit we weren't able to get a get a return taxi so were very lucky when the other guests on the tour kindly offered us a lift back to Verona. My advice would be to pre-book your return taxi!
Overall I would say that this was a great value tour that I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a quick dip into the world of Valpolicella wines and...
