Sono rimasto positivamente sorpreso dalla visita al forte delle saline. Si possono vedere reperti archeologici (anfore, ancore, ecc.) risalenti all'epoca etrusca e romana. Molto interessante la storia del forte in epoca spagnola.

Il forte delle saline è una struttura molto affascinante e possente. Purtroppo non è stato possibile visitarlo, ma so che all'interno c'è una interessante raccolta di reperti archeologici recuperati in zona. La campagna attorno ne completa il carattere, distese di terreni, dove scorre il fiume che, dopo un ultimo breve tragitto, si butta nel mare. E che mare! Il mare della Giannella con una splendida spiaggia di fronte a Porto S. Stefano e acque...
