Really beautiful beaches with soft sand and shallow water, very gentle entry – perfect for families with kids. Compared to Su Barone, where we were the day before, this spot felt much safer in terms of entry, waves, and overall comfort.

It’s worth pointing out that you don’t need to panic about reservations or the fear of no available spots, even though a lot of reviews online say that. First, there’s a small shuttle bus (14 seats) that will take you to the beach for €10 per adult and €5 per child, and bring you back at an agreed time – honestly not much more expensive than paying for parking and fuel. Second, if you don’t mind a bit of walking, you can easily reach all these beaches on foot starting from Berechida. You can park there for €8 (half day) or €12 (full day), and from there it’s about a 20-minute walk to Bidderosa 5, with 4 and the others just a short stroll further.

As for the beaches themselves, in our opinion number 4 was better than number 2 because it was less crowded. Near number 3 there’s a small bar, but don’t expect too much – just basic food like panini, ice cream, coffee,...

Great area for hiking. If you walk to the beach parking is only 4€ plus entrance fee 1€/per. If you walk slow and take many pictures hiking around the lake up the mountain and down again in a big figure eight takes 4-6h. Paths are easy and you will find many interesting places. Be careful in the shrubs as i got stung by some sort of wasp after just two minutes on the trail. The beach we encountered was pure pebble, okay for us as we did not care for a swim. In the hills you will find some form of gemstones on the ground, mixed crystals and animals :) Leave them there though.. the gems.. and animals.

I don't know why but along all the paths we could not find many birds.. a handful maybe. The upper lake was also dried out. Maybe go there earlier than september? Many lizards and...

Very difficult to get to if you don’t have a car. We had to walk from the public bus stop in the next town 3 km away. When arriving it is another 6 km to walk or pay 10 euros per person for their shuttle bus. We booked an umbrella but were told where to sit - right in front of the lifeguard (looked like he was 14 years old!). We thus had to do without the umbrella and got cooked in order to sit where we wanted! Water was nice but the day was roasting and consequently very hot under foot. Beaches fairly crowded even though they are supposed to limit numbers!?! All in all would not recommend the place. There are other great beaches in the area that won’t cost you that much to enjoy a holiday in Sardinia.

What the website doesn’t say : Travelling by car you need to book a parking spot in advance which is often sold out. BUT if you come by 8am and not a minute later : every day there are a few spare parking spots available. Arriving between 9-11am : ask for the navetta or bus transfer service. You can park your car at a designated area, 10! Euro for return ticket. Beach number 2 is the most beautiful and comfortable one. Amazing really amazing aquamarine colour water. No crowds. Never. Best beach in the area. Absolutely.
