I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pomario Vineyards in the beautiful Umbria region of Italy, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning vineyard views and warm hospitality.

The cooking and wine tasting at Pomario Vineyards exceeded my expectations. The cooking classes were conducted by skilled chefs who were not only knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing their culinary expertise. I learned traditional Italian recipes and techniques that I can now recreate at home. The hands-on approach allowed me to fully immerse myself in the process and truly appreciate the art of Italian cooking.

The wine tasting sessions were a true delight for my palate. Pomario Vineyards is known for producing exceptional wines, and they certainly lived up to their reputation. The sommeliers guided us through the tasting, providing interesting insights into the winemaking process and the characteristics of each wine. I particularly enjoyed the rich reds and crisp whites, which showcased the unique flavors of the Umbria region.

What truly sets Pomario Vineyards apart is their commitment to sustainability and organic practices. They prioritize eco-friendly farming methods, resulting in wines that are not only delicious but also environmentally conscious. It was inspiring to see their dedication to preserving the land and nurturing the vines.

The overall ambiance of Pomario Vineyards is enchanting. The vineyard itself is picturesque, with rows of grapevines stretching out as far as the eye can see. The tasting rooms and cooking facilities are tastefully designed, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere.

I highly recommend a visit to Pomario Vineyards for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable culinary and wine experience in the Umbria region. Whether you're a wine enthusiast, a food lover, or simply someone looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of Italian countryside, Pomario Vineyards is a must-visit...

Beautiful winery in Umbria. Quite small but that's exactly what makes it special. We booked a tour with lunch and we were shown around by a very nice lady who told us all about the owners and how they set up this place. How they grow organic grapes and hand pick them. How roses are grown at every grape line as a natural way to spot trouble to the plants (nature fending for itself). Then lunch was served. Everything is either grown in their own garden or bought locally (apparently up to 16km) including cheeses and meats. It was fresh and amazing in its simplicity. Worth mentioning is the olive oil which they press themselves from their own grown olives within 3 hours of harvest! And the wine pairings that came with it were absolutely lovely! A fresh rose that cleans your mouth after a fatty antipasti 😋, golden wine (orange) that is as complex as red when served at room temperature. Fresh and tangy red, surprisingly served cold with pasta! I also have to commend the lamb - I don't think I have ever eaten lamb so tender! And then for dessert biscotti with an amazing sweet white (I didn't know that sweet wine is made from moulded grapes!). What shines through is the love that those people have for this land. Reciprocated...

We were drawn in by the very positive reviews and recommendations, but sadly this experience fell short of expectations.

We booked the €75 pp gourmet lunch with 6 wine pairings and olive oil tasting, expecting the best local products as advertised on their website and when booking(truffle, wild game, porcini). Instead, we were served what felt like a standard lunch: both vegetarian and regular menus had the same vegetarian carbonara, with dishes like parmigiana and pork filet that didn’t feel “gourmet.” There was no olive oil tasting, and one wine was forgotten and only offered at the very end.

The location is stunning, the staff friendly, and the wine excellent — we even planned to buy some before the visit, but after this experience we decided against it. It felt like we paid for the gourmet experience but received the basic one, and mentioning this to the staff twice didn’t lead to any effort to make it right.

When a guest speaks up, it’s already uncomfortable — it would have been nice if the staff had gone out of their way to fix things. We were also scouting potential venues for our wedding reception, but unfortunately we left feeling disappointed rather...

During my time at Pomario Winery, I was impressed by the effort Cristina puts into her job. Her knowledge of the wines and the region added a special touch to the wine tasting experience. The generous portions of delicious food served at the winery paired perfectly with the extensive selection of wines offered during the degustation. The combination of flavorful dishes and ample wine samples made the visit truly delightful. I was shocked to see how much food was served to us and the amount of wine poured into every glass, everything was of high standard. Cristina's warm and welcoming demeanor, coupled with her expertise in wine, enhanced the overall atmosphere of the winery. The attention to detail in both service and presentation, along with the abundance of wine provided, made the tasting experience both educational and enjoyable. Pomario winery, with Cristina at the helm, is a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts looking for a memorable and enriching experience.

This is a GEM of a place to visit in Italy! I’ve told so many people already how wonderful it is. I’m a travel agent and was so impressed that I shared very detailed info with my entire agency. This place is absolutely beautiful. The family is precious, knowledgeable, & professional. The entire property was spotless & immaculately landscaped. We actually scheduled a wine tour on the same day we were attending for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We didn’t know it at the time so we had the pleasure of seeing it both as a regular tourist as well as a guest for a wedding venue. Both experiences were spectacular. The bride & groom were highly impressed with the use of the property as a wedding venue. The staff was above & beyond. If we ever return to Italy, we will be back to Pomario!
