Valle Reale — Attraction in Popoli Terme

We had the most wonderful wine tasting experience at the gorgeous cantina and B&B yesterday. This small winery prides itself in offering the optimal level of customer service with their great wines, gorgeous setting and stunning tasting room. It was our second visit there this year with Fabiola (photo below) who happens to speak 3 languages and makes you feel like you are family visiting Valle Reale. They have different levels of tastings but we highly recommend their top level with the incredible bread, Valentini olive oil and local cheeses. One of the best days of our vacation in Italy. They have a newly opened B&B for guests who want to have a tasting and stay on their property which is stunning. Absolutely a 5 star experience for someone wishing to explore the still unknown area of Abruzzo and taste the fantastic wines...

Very disappointed by the way we were received.

We didn’t scheduled a tasting because we were in the area just overnight. We just wanted to buy some wine to bring back with us.

Not one explanation about the « cépage » of the area, nor how the wine actually tastes like.

The lady gave us the price ranking of the bottles. And that was the only information we were able to get. When we asked what was the difference in between their two lines of bottles the lady simply answered « if you don’t know the wine, juste buy the cheaper one… »

I expected better service given the comments about their tastings.

I didn’t bother buy more than 6 bottles… It took her 5’ tops.

It seems that they are more interested in selling you their 45€ tasting than talking about their wine and passion when you just...

We really liked the wine tasting. A special experience of about two hours that we recommend to everyone visiting the area. The beautiful views of the winery and the pleasant hospitality with explanations about the area and the uniqueness of this winery as a mountain winery made our visit nothing less than perfect. We tasted 4 types of wines, two red and two white according to the rating of the winery from the entry wines to the leading wines. Everything is accompanied by extremely delicious bread baked by a 3-star Michelin chef with amazing olive oil and accompanied by several types of pecorino cheese - highly...
