Last week we stayed at "Casa Torre" in Fattoria Montemaggio for about a week and to be honest we could not enjoy it more. We are still excited and thrilled about our visit. Right in the heart of Tuscany at about 1h drive distance from Florece and Siena. Our private stone house with 3 twin bedrooms + 3 bathrooms en-suite, roomy livingroom and large fully-equipped kitchen was just stunning, taken care down to the smallest detail. Owners really have an exquisite taste to It. On top of that we felt awestruck by the incredible views from our house's tower overlooking a Tuscan idyllic scenary and an unforgettable sunset. Furthermore, the staff (special thnx to Francesco, Hasiba and Said) was heartfelt welcoming, helpful and discreet, available at all times. They even brought to our attention that we had a flat tire and they happily volunteered to assist and eventually did fix it all up in the blink of an eye, with a smile at no extra cost!. Just an example showing that you will find in Montemaggio the never seen before. 🥰 It is also noteworthy not to be missed their enjoyable guided visit to their facilities, vineyard, wine production process and exclusive winetasting including their varied wide range of top-quality wines, grappa and olive oíl!!! What more could...

This place is absolutely amazing and I can’t recommend coming to see for yourself. The beauty of the property is second to none, rooftop views, flowers gardens etc, so much to see. My girlfriend and I did the wine tour/tasting and picnic after. Francisco was our tour guide and did an outstanding job. He was so knowledgeable about every aspect of the Chianti wine culture. From the tour to the wine tasting, every question was answered and explained throughly. The wine tasting had to be the highlight for us. We where served 8 different wines, along with cheeses, meat, bread, and water. Every wine was different and perfect in its own way, there was not a bad wine. We learned how each different wine is produced and learned how to really taste wine with all of your senses. The picnic was private with a panoramic view of the property, we were served sandwiches, fresh picked cherries, chocolate, water, and of course wine. The host is also so easy to work with and responds to messages very quickly. Again, the whole experience was informative and fun. 10/10 I recommend this...

What a fantastic experience.

First thing to mention is accessing the vineyard. Make sure you do this from the north side road. If you go either up or down from the southside you will not make it in any car.

We arrived unannounced with no booking. But given we had travelled so far Francesco was kind enough to accommodate a private winetasting. He was so welcoming and very knowledgeable answering all the questions we had.

The vineyard is stunning. It is unlike anything we have seen before and worth the journey given it’s so peaceful and quiet up there. It’s super secluded.

The wine themselves were beautiful. So much so we ordered a number of bottles to be shipped back to England.

Thanks again to Francesco for accommodating us and providing us with a fantastic experience to celebrate our honeymoon! If we are ever back in the area we will for sure come back and visit. Highly recommend - check...

My family of 10 did a cooking class paired with wine tasting and it was such an intimate and personal experience! Our chef and sommelier were both personable and great at explaining the steps / pairings of wine and food. We made a 3 course meal and tried about 5-10 wines in the process. My only constructive criticism is we planned for a 3.5 hour experience but this easily could have taken 5 hours. We had to skip out on the tour of the property because we had made prior reservations for another winery and we’re upset to miss out on all this winery had to offer. Be sure to plan accordingly with time! Finally - this is a female owned and managed winery (look at the bottle it displays a woman!) and I loved that they made sharing this a priority.

I visited Montemaggio vineyard last summer. The tour of the vineyard was fascinating, and the scenery/views were incredible. We then had the wine tasting, and tried 10-12 brilliant wines, and grappa. There were local Tuscan nibbles to eat while sampling the wine, which was also a nice touch. On the tour there were people like me (who know nothing about wine), and people who appeared to know their stuff. The hosts were great at catering to everyone's wine knowledge with no snobbery. The vineyard is easy to access by car from Florence and Siena. Leave plenty of time for the drive there, as you will be wanting to pull over every few minutes to look at the spectacular views. Highly recommend visiting the vineyard.

If you’re going to do a wine tour in Chianti then do this one! My wife and I were looking for something a little different, personal, educational and interesting. We were thoroughly impressed by Montemaggio, a beautiful place down a long winding gravel trail (don’t bring your Ferrari!) to a lovely small peaceful vineyard. Francesco was an incredibly well versed and knowledgeable guide, taking our group through all the elements of vinticulture. The blind tasting additional part was very helpful, learned so much and cannot be more grateful or recommend this highly enough!
