Arena Campovolo Music® Reggio Emilia — Attraction in Reggio nell'Emilia

The organisation was really bad.

We drove to the venue by car to see ACDC. When we arrived in the area the traffic stuck for 1 hour. So we parked the car a walked 5km to the location like the most of the people. Most of the time we needed to walk on the street with the cars because there were no sidewalks. This was sometimes really dangerous, but it was the official way where the police guided us.

When we arrived at the venue we wanted to buy some drinks. For this we needed to some „tokens“ that we got 50 minutes after we were waiting at a „Cassa“. After that we waited 30min for our drinks. Due we were 8 persons we bought 8 beer and water. After I picked the tray with 4 beers it broke in front of the staff. We argued with the staff to get a new one and to have the tray doubled so it is stronger. We needed to pay for two more to get it. This service was really weak.

The concert and the sound was really good. After the concert the organisation of the people was not well organized. We wanted to take the same way back to our car, but the security people guided us over the airport. After a 30min walk we stood with 500 people in front of a fence before the parking space. The front row broke the fence to get the people through, the security personel just watched and gave no guidance.

In my point of view there needs to be a safer and more convinient way for the people to enjoy the show. The „no cash/token“ system is from the past and not working for such big concerts. It is only good for getting more cash for the organisators. We all agreed that this was our last concert...

Unfortunately I got tickets for the last sector, which is so far away that you can hardly see the stage. This isn't the organizers' fault, but I would only recommend attending an event here if you have a ticket in the first sector; otherwise, it doesn't make sense.

Additionally, there are too few toilets for such a large crowd. There is a common issue at big events lately, where you can only buy beer (6€/0.4l). There are no other options like wines or shots, even though it's in Italy, known for its excellent wines and Proseccos.

Moreover, they don't accept cards or cash at the bars—only tokens. This system is supposed to speed up purchases, but there are 50-meter queues, and it takes forever to get a beer. Tokens can only be bought at the entrance (with extremely long queues), so if you run out of tokens, you have to walk back quit a long distance. Parking is also a big issue, and even if you come by public transport like a train, you have to walk about 2.5 km from the station to the concert area (one way).

Nowadays, there are events where these issues have already been resolved, but unfortunately, this arena hasn't...

Ich war hier zu einem Rammsteinkonzert und kann auch nur von den Erfahrungen dieser einen Veranstaltung berichten.

Grundsätzlich habe ich die Arena Campovolo als gut strukturiert wahrgenommen und als geeigneten Ort für Großveranstaltungen. Es kommt gut Stimmung auf und aufgrund der Einteilung in Bereiche hält sich das Gedränge in Grenzen. Diese Bereiche sind durch Farbmarkierungen im Zugangsbereich und auf dem Ticket gekennzeichnet und später durch Barrieren von einander getrennt; man verläuft sich also nicht. Die Arena ist leicht fallend angelegt, so dass man auch von weiter hinten stets eine gute Sicht auf die Bühne hat, obwohl es keine klassische Arena mit Sitzrängen ist. Es gibt nur Stehplätze, wenn ich das richtig beobachtet habe. Der Sound ist ausgesprochen gut und für eine Open-Air-Location sehr präzise und ausgewogen. Aber wie gesagt: ich habe keinen Vergleich zu anderen Bands dort. Vor Ort sind ausreichend Toilettenhäusschen (vorwiegend Dixis). Getränke werden sowohl an Ständen am Vorplatz angeboten, als auch von Verkäufern im Publikumsbereich. Bier 8 Euro, Wasser 3 Euro, Cola 5 Euro.

ACHTUNG: Verkauft werden ausschließlich offene Flaschen ohne Deckel! Insbesondere an heißen Tagen, wo man gerne mal mehrere Flaschen Wasser trinken sollte, ist das eine unnötig bescheuerte Maßnahme. Nehmt euch also Deckel mit (PET-Flasche), oder gebt dem Verkäufer einen Euro extra...

Gut hingegen ist das Massenmanagement: Es gibt zwar nur einen Hauptzugang- und ausgang, dieser ist aber so breit angelegt, dass 50.000 Menschen problemlos und schnell das Gelände verlassen können. Anders ist es allerdings bei der Parkplatzsituation: Hier sind zwei Felder / Wiesen in unmittelbarer Nähe als Parkplatz eingerichtet. Das Parken kostet dort 25 Euro und man kann das entweder online buchen und bezahlen, oder vor Ort. Betrieben und gemanagt werden die Parkplätze von der Feuerwehr oder dergleichen, aber da fehlt es leider etwas an Organisation. Eine Ticketkontrolle bezüglich Reservierung bei der Zufahrt wird nur stichprobenartig vorgenommen. Eine Einteilung in Parkbereiche - bspw. nach Buchstaben oder Nummern - gibt es Stand 2024 nicht. Das Auto muss man also nachts suchen. Hilfreich ist wohl eine Standortmarkierung mit Google. Nachdem es auch hier nur eine Ausfahrt gibt, staut es sich doch vergleichsweise lange zurück (wir haben etwa 90 Minuten gebraucht, um das Gelände zu verlassen). Ich weiß, dass das immer und auch anderswo gern ein Problem ist, aber es sollte zumindest erwähnt sein. Über die Anreise mit ÖPNV kann ich nichts sagen.
