This was a fun little tourist diversion for the family and I. We booked online in the morning which was pretty simple, we went for one of the later tours (about 5.30pm). There is some on street parking on the roads below the actual entrance area. You just park up, walk up to the cabin and show the PDF of your tickets before waiting for the guide to pick you up. There are a couple of little vending machines to grab a coffee or snacks. It is a guided tour so you are gathered up as a group, before being given a helmet and having the rules and safety explained. Note, this is a tour in Italian. Whilst the guide explained the safety is stuff in English, the rest of the tour was in Italian. This was fine with us, even thought we don’t speak great Italian, we should not expect them to do things differently as we were the only English on the tour. The guide was happy to answer the questions we had as we went around the caves though, in perfect English. The caves themselves are great, easy paths, nice lighting and atmospheric. There are only a couple of spots you are allowed to take photos which the guide will inform you about. We had an excellent time though, really cool. If anyone spots the lens cap to my Nikon FXC camera I there, let me know :) Highly recommended!

I have been there in April 2019. Definitely recommended! If you like nature and especially stone formations, this is a place to go. Adventure lovers also will appreciate. There are guided tours and a ticket cost 10eur. The narrations is in Italian and English. We had a really cool and informed guy, who was also part of the exploration team. The caves are not yet fully explored, even the best teams couldn’t get to the very end so far. There is 10 degrees inside so be sure to wear a warm jacket, warm hat, muffins and long trousers: you will appreciate the warm after 20 Minutes :)))). “Grotte di Stiffe is one of Italy's top Caves to visit. Inside the caves are beautiful caverns with stalactite and stalagmite formations but what makes the tour unique is the stunning waterfall inside the cave emptying into a small lake. A river runs through the cave and creates a waterfall when there's plenty of water. The best time to see the waterfall is in spring since that's when there's the most water.”

It is located in the countryside but there are lots of signs along the road to help you get there. You have to enter in timed intervals with a guide. We looked online, and you can see how many spots are available for each interval. So we started to drive there, not sure exactly which interval we would be on time for, and purchased our ticket once we got there. Our guide was Lara - the tour was in English and Italian. She is very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. She gives you time to take photos at each area, but at the same time, she keeps the group moving along. There is time to ask questions. There is nowhere else in Italy quite like this, so it is well worth the admission fee. The time spent inside was perfect, about 1 hr and 20 minutes. Dress warmly for temperatures about 10 degrees C.

This is definitely a place you have to visit if you find yourself in the area. Very easy to get here, preferably book your tickets online. Recommended for families with kids too. I do caving myself, but sometimes it is nice to see caves lightened and with a guide that can explain you the formation of these mother nature beauties. I have visited quite a few public ones but this is definitely special for the length it stretches and for the stream that cross the entire cave system for more than 4km. Only 700 meters of it are accessible to the public. Thank you so much Jusy, our guide, for taking us inside the earth and explaining the history of this caves.

What a wonderfully maintained karst cave system. We were able to visit the two waterfalls and the huge chamber of silence and several other chambers. You can appreciate the different color of rocks due to various minerals. The temperature inside the caves is around 10°c so a light jacket is needed. The booking was done through Whataspp. Gloves and mask are mandatory. Helmets are provided at the counter. Adults is €10 and kids €8.50. The tour lasts for less than an hour. The guided tour was in Italian but the guide was kind enough to explain the cave system and history to us in English whenever he had some time during the tour and at the end as well.
