We visited this winery on the last day of our Tuscany trip and it immediately became one of the highlights of the entire trip. Arranging an appointment was straightforward and easy. When we arrived at the top of the winery after a somewhat adventurous road, we had a wonderful view of a dreamlike Tuscan landscape and the wonderful San Gimignano, as well as the typical Tuscan buildings of the winery. We were in a bit of a hurry when we got upstairs, but if you first breathe in the wonderfully calm atmosphere of this idyll, you come to rest immediately, but at the latest when you get to know David with his calm, level-headed and serene manner. After some small talk, the tour started. First about the history of the winery on the grapevines, about the production in the warehouses and about the wine itself in the wine cellar. David's knowledge does not begin and end with wine, he has a great general knowledge, which enables him to consider many aspects of wine production and sales from different perspectives and contexts and what makes the tour all the more informative for visitors. After this very informative tour in an intimate circle, we went back to the table where, in addition to some bread with olive oil and nice conversations, the wine tasting took place. David takes his time and goes into every single wine and he and Salomon are great company. I would just like to say this much about the wines: our wallets are now lighter and our cellars are full. In the end, David again showed us his hospitality and we were allowed to enjoy the food we had brought with us on his dreamlike terrace, together with a couple of open bottles of wine and an incredible view of San Gimignano and the surrounding landscape.
In conclusion, I would like to warmly recommend a visit to this winery to anyone who can plan a...
Read moreI can't say enough about this Vineyard. My wife and I showed up to this place not realizing we needed a reservation for a wine tasting but luckily Mr. David accommodated us anyway, which was very considerate of him. We were lucky enough to get to spend some time with him, a couple of his friends from England, and their nephew, who currently lived in Australia. They were awesome people and a pleasure to speak with. Though Mr. David is from England, he has been hosting wine tastings at this Vineyard for approximately 10 years and his wealth of knowledge on Italy, Italian culture, Italian wine, etc. is simply amazing. The Vineyard is beautiful and has a wonderful overlook of San Gimignano. My wife and I have done a few wine tours in many places, but this place is like Napa Valley on steroids. The prices are much more affordable for both the tour and buying the wine itself and in our opinion the wine that we had here is better than any we had in Napa Valley (clearly this is an opinion though). Unlike many Vineyards, the cellar is a short walk from where you do your tasting and is located in a hillside of the forest and it is beautiful. You won't regret coming to this Vineyard and as I said Mr. David is a pleasure to be around...
Read moreWe visited this private winery property with my daughter and met with David, our host after an interesting ride off the beaten path from the town of San Gimangano. It was the perfect size property with both olives & vines, and our host was outstanding! We received a private tour of the facilities from the vine to the tanks to the cellar, built into the side of a hill. He was so informative and answered every question we threw at him along the way. We then went to the tasting room where he proceeded to bring out fresh bread, olive oil from the property and our first of 2 white wines that were delicious. The next course of olives, tapenade & chianti was just as good. My favorite was the next course of cured Tuscan Salami, prosciutto and wild boar, paired with their merlot. The boar was my personal favorite. Then it was a super Tuscan with a cheese pairing, followed by some biscotti and sweet dessert wine to end the gastronomic journey. Delicious! So good, in fact, that we sent a mixed case, plus a bottle of their olive oil home to the states.|You will not be disappointed, including the views of the towers of San Gimangano in the distance. GPS with longitude and latitude is suggested for...
