Piscine naturali — Attraction in Santa Cesarea Terme

Just a bit further down from the beautiful Grotta Verde, you’ll find a series of natural rock pools that could be and still are, in part, stunning. The sea here is crystal-clear, the rock formations are unique, and the setting is naturally peaceful... or at least it was. Unfortunately, someone thought it would be a brilliant idea to carve into the rock and build a bar, complete with a bright red canopy that looks completely out of place. It’s the kind of addition that makes you wonder, who approved this? It really clashes with the raw beauty of the coastline. To add to the experience, jellyfish decided to join us that day, not the beach’s fault, of course, but worth noting if you plan to swim. And then there’s the parking. Once upon a time, this part of the Salento coast had free parking (white lines). Now, it’s all blue lines and paid spots, €1.40 to €1.70 per hour. Reasonable maybe, but when combined with poor infrastructure and overcrowding, it’s easy to see why many tourists choose Spain or the islands instead. In short: nature tried its best, but bureaucracy and bad design are doing their best to ruin it. Visit for the sea and the scenery, just lower your expectations...

I went to this wonder of nature in July 2023 with my friend Giulio and we arrived by car. It is easy to find a place to park and parking is free. The beach is very large and it is rocky but comfortable. There is a bar on top of the beach where is possible to have lunch with traditional pasta and frisas 😍 The natural swimming pool is wonderful, the water colour is aquamarina and the level of water is low. Water temperature is fresh and it is very much suitable for small kids because it is secluded exactly like a city swimming pool. On the left hand side there are caves and exit to the open sea and also a small exit on the right hand side. It is very peaceful and relaxing. Better to go in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid masses of people and excited kids who swims everywhere 🤣 I loved it and will definitely come...

La piscina naturale di Marina Serra è un vero gioiello nascosto nella costa del Salento, che merita assolutamente una visita. Questo luogo incantevole, immerso in uno scenario naturale mozzafiato, offre un'esperienza di balneazione unica. La piscina è formata da una serie di rocce naturali che creano una laguna di acqua cristallina, ideale per nuotare e rilassarsi.

Il contesto è molto suggestivo, con il mare che si infrange dolcemente sulle rocce, creando un'atmosfera tranquilla e rigenerante. L'acqua è di una limpidezza straordinaria, permettendo di vedere il fondo marino anche a diversi metri di profondità. La temperatura dell'acqua è piacevole, rendendo la nuotata ancora più gradevole.

Uno degli aspetti più apprezzabili è la tranquillità del luogo, lontano dalle spiagge affollate. È possibile godere di momenti di pace e serenità, in un contesto naturale quasi incontaminato. Anche nei mesi estivi, la piscina naturale riesce a mantenere un'atmosfera rilassante, pur essendo abbastanza frequentata.

Unico aspetto da considerare è la difficoltà di accesso per chi non è particolarmente agile, poiché le rocce possono risultare scivolose. Tuttavia, una volta raggiunto il punto di balneazione, si è ampiamente ripagati dall'esperienza.In conclusione, la piscina naturale di Marina Serra è un luogo imperdibile per chiunque desideri vivere un'esperienza di mare diversa dal solito, immersi in un contesto naturale di rara bellezza. Consigliata per una giornata di relax e per chi ama esplorare luoghi autentici...
