Ultimately, Il Giardino Fantastico is a testament to personal vision and the therapeutic power of art. It is a space where sadness and creativity coexist, and where unresolved emotions are given monumental form. I sincerely wish the artist peace of mind and continued inspiration. Un posto incantato. Un angolo di follia sperduto nel sud della Sardegna, scoperto del tutto per caso. Attirato da alcune strane costruzioni che sbucavano ai lati della strada, mi sono dovuto fermare. Anzi, avendo superato l'entrata, sono tornato indietro per vedere di cosa si trattasse. L'ingresso, un cancello di ferro pieno di scritte dai mille colori, lasciava solo in parte presagire quel che avrei trovato dentro. Sculture di ogni materia e colore, affollavano un giardino tipico del sud Italia. Fichi, viti, peschi, fichi d'india, piante aromatiche. L'autore delle sculture, un vecchio un po' lunatico, mi ha accompagnato per tutto il percorso, spiegando come solo l'autore sa fare, il significato di quelle strane strutture. Tutte ispirate a due parole: rispetto e speranza. Tutte le storie rappresentate dalle sue sculture (la droga, l'11 settembre, il tributo alla madre terra, il coccodrillo ecc), avevano come filo conduttore queste due parole. La più grande e la più incredibile, era una donna ciclopica sdraiata di schiena, con le gambe aperte. Nel mezzo, una vagina creata ad arte con un tendaggio. Il vecchio mi invitò ad entrare. All'interno della donna, una teca, bassa e disposta centralmente e longitudinalmente al corpo, racchiudeva un bambolotto bruttissimo, contornato da cromosomi x e y: il tesoro più prezioso. Der Besuch der Ausstellung war ein tief bewegendes Erlebnis. In einer Zeit, in der Schnelllebigkeit oft den Blick für das Wesentliche verstellt, war es ein besonderes Privileg, vom Künstler selbst durch seine Werke geführt zu werden. Trotz seines fortgeschrittenen Alters nahm sich der Künstler mit großer Ruhe und Hingabe die Zeit, uns seine Gedankenwelt nahezubringen.

Seine Werke sprechen eine klare, doch zugleich leise Sprache – eine Sprache, die nicht nur das Auge, sondern vor allem das Herz und den Verstand berührt. In ihnen spiegeln sich seine tiefgründigen Überlegungen zur Menschheit, zur Verletzlichkeit unserer Erde und zur Verantwortung, die wir alle tragen.

Er begegnet seinen Themen mit einer bewundernswerten Ernsthaftigkeit und zugleich mit einer fast poetischen Milde. Ihn persönlich kennenzulernen, war ebenso bereichernd wie seine Kunst zu erleben. Die Begegnung mit ihm und seinem Schaffen hallt nach – als Einladung zur Achtsamkeit, zum Innehalten und zur ehrlichen Auseinandersetzung mit unserer Welt.
