It's a beautiful viewpoint that we were lucky to have all to ourselves. At first when you reach the rock you may not realise that it is the one so you may have to walk a bit further and look back to see the pancake rock sticking out.
Reaching it feels a bit like a little adventure in itself. After driving a few kilometers two green signs show the way. We parked at the first green sign (Sa Trona 500) and walked from there, it took maybe 10 minutes. It is probably possible to go a little bit further with the car too. The road up there is not in the best condition. Most of it is unpaved and quite rocky and bumpy, but there are also paved parts. We had a small rental car without 4x4 (Fiat 500), but managed to get there, we just had to drive very slow for most of the road, which took some time. We only met one car while driving back, but luckily it was in a good place to meet another car. Many stretches of the road is too...
Read moreHow to get there. Set the destination on Google Maps and, by car, follow the path until you get to the green signal with the notice "Sa Trona 500" written onto it (see picture below). There you should park the car and continue on foot. After a while you'll bump into a closed shoddy gate, which is anyway openable by just lifting the latch. So, cross the gate and after another while you'll see the second green signal (see picture below). From there it's just a few minutes walk to the goal. Now, bear in mind that getting to the first signal by car is impossible if you have a vehicle with a low center of gravity (i.e. sports car), because the dirt road is pretty uneven. I'm not saying that you necessarily need an off-road, but if you use a compact car, make sure to take it very slowly.
Sa Trona is a beautiful spot with a wonderful panorama, but don't expect a big...
