Torre di Punta Baffe — Attraction in Sestri Levante

Torre di Punta Baffe is a watchtower dating back to XVII Century, built by local inhabitants with support from the Republic of Genoa to protect local populations from pirates and Turkish raiders. The walk starfs from Riva Trigoso: by following a well-indicated path, you may reach the tower within 1.5 hours. The path is not difficult, but do remember to use trekking shoes and bring some water. While walking, you have magnificent views on the gulf of Riva, as well as the blue of sea and the green of leaves of the typical macchia mediterranea (trees and bushes frlm the zone), with amazing colors and smells. When you reach the top, you can have a look of the gulfs facing other towns like Moneglia, Deiva, Framura, and when the weather is exceptionally clear you may also see the isle of Corsica. Si può raggiungere la torre di Punta Baffe partendo da Moneglia ( sentiero vicino alla stazione) da Riva Trigoso ( sentiero dopo il cimitero ) da Casarza Ligure località Bracco ( via villa Casaggiori, di fianco all' omonimo agriturismo) partendo da quest' ultimo punto si percorre per un buon tratto una strada carrabile ma non asfaltata dove oramai non passano quasi mai delle auto, lo stesso partendo da Riva Trigoso. Lungo il tragitto si possono ammirare scorci mozzafiato sul golfo del Tigullio da un lato e verso Moneglia e le cinque terre dall' altro. Arrivati in cima alla Punta è possibile visionare su un cartellone i diversi sentieri. Non sono presenti fontane. Necessarie scarpe...

Man wandert das letzte Stück hinauf zur Torre di Punta Baffe und merkt sofort: Diese kleine Rundturm‑Ruine steht da, als hätte sie nie gelernt, laut zu tun. Die im 16. Jahrhundert als Wachtposten der Republik Genua gegen Piraten errichtet wurde, flüstert ihre schlichte Steinhaut eher leise “Sei wachsam”, statt “Fürchte dich!” . Oben eröffnet sich ein Panorama, das ohne Pathos ausreicht: das Blau der Riviera legt sich zu deinen Füßen. Man steht schweigend da – nicht weil man muss, sondern weil der Ort es still verlangt.
