I am not a cyclist, but this is still a great spot for picnics and fresh mountain spring water. The scenery is beautiful and the water is cold and refreshing. Definitely a spot to stop if you are in the area. We had the chance to walk this famous bike racing hill and it was super difficult. From the fountain it took roughly 30 minutes to walk/fast walk to the top. The climb is very steep at places, 25% grade. There are markings for the altitude painted on the road as well as some text. Even though it's longer, and driving slowly it will still take 7 minutes, you'll have to wait about another 20 minutes for the walking party to summit near the restaurant at the top. We will test a race to the bottom next, possibly on push scooter coasting down faster than the car taking the long route...
Read moreThe bucket list climb of the area along with the Ghisallo. We love taking our customers here on bike tours. Every cyclist must experience the Muro...not just for how challenging and steep it is but to see this unique and historical climb in person: the altitude written every meter of the way, and the several quotes from former pro cyclists commenting on its difficulty. If you're able to look up from the road/handlebars the views toward the top are fantastic! We recommend riding it with an 11/32 cassette. This is the toughest bike path in the world! That's right, there are no cars, it's a cycle path! Enjoy and good luck! You can ride the Muro...
