This is the beach you always dream of. The way to the beach was not extremely difficult and only steep at times. It was absolutely worth it though, because the view of the sea was extrodionary beautiful. I would recommend wearing not necessarily hiking shoes but sneakers or any other kind of closed sport shoes that you have. Also, take at least 1 bottle of water per person. We face the problem of temperature And dehydration during our 30 minute hike. The difficulty of the hike was not too bad because our group included a person with back pain and they made it without much struggling. The beach was absolutely beautiful. Water was crystal clear and there was a lot of fish. The terrain was very nice as well, so this is the perfect place for pictures. Sonrkelling is possible and recommended if you have the equipment. We visited the beach during the high tourism season (july-august) and it was not overcrowded at all. There were quite a few people, but we still got a few square meters for our selves. The only thing that we didn't like is that there were a lot of parked boats and yachts hiding the view from the beach. In conclusion, I absolutely recommend this beach. Not only is it a paradise for relaxation, there is also an exercise that comes before and after it, all for free. All in your favor. Totally a place to visit when arriving to Maddalena. A great experience of Sardinia's nature...
Read moreReservation only, list of guides on the La Maddelena parks website. We thought this was an unnecessary hassle at first, but once we started we quickly understood the reasons. We had Giuliano as a guide, extremely knowledgeable of the area, plant and animal life, good natured & humorous. The trail is about 40-45 minute hike, steep in sections, some loose rock and very hot with no shade. When you get to the beach it takes your breath away, turquoise blue water and small fine sandy area and easy access, some juniper bushes scattered around the bay under rocks for shade, you can find a shady spot. Due to previous years of no regulation, the beach could not handle the amount of traffic (500 people in some days). A place this beautiful needs protection so I am glad to see the restrictions, and a €25 per person for a guide is well worth it. We biked to the parking spot, give yourself 1/1.25 hours from La Maddelena (some hills on the way up !). Met our guide there at 9am, he let us stay for 3 hours which went quickly. Bring a bite to eat and lots of water. You can stop for beers on the way down. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. Thank...
Read moreReally beautiful beach well worth the approx 45min trek there (definitely wear proper shoes!) - wouldn’t do it with small children as there are some steep climbs included. At the entrance at the street there is a sign stating that you are only allowed to go on the hike if you’re with a guide as it’s a protected area. I didn’t know this beforehand and really wanted to go so went anyway. Around 2:30pm a guide came to the beach with his group of about 6-8 people shouting at everyone there (the little beach was packed with people who hiked there and came by boat) that we weren’t allowed to be there and no towels or other stuff was allowed on the sand. We had to put everything on the rocks around us. It wasn’t clear whether he wanted us to leave so I stayed a bit longer. I do get that the beach needs to be protected but the guide really destroyed the experience for me a little bit. He was just unnecessarily aggressive and kept bossing people around - except for the people on his tour who were allowed to put their towels on the beach for example. It felt like a show just so these people wouldn’t feel ripped off for paying for something other people...
