Cantine Pupillo - Castello del Solacium — Attraction in Syracuse

Had an amazing time at Cantine Pupillo. Took part of a winery tour + tasting with my wife and left extremely happy. The tour with Paola was informative and interesting learning about the deep history of the land and wine making region. Following the tour, we took part in a relaxing wine tasting session which Paola and had a great time learning about different wine varieties and their specialties. The estate tour and wine tasting with food was an otherworldly experience. The winery is a little known shrine of history, culture, art, botanical rarities, tradition and extravagance. I have never been through such an incredible journey through Greek, Roman, Arabic, Medieval, Spanish and modern times. Our guide on site, originally from Sheffield, is a passionate historian and fed us with useful information and several curious facts. We spent a magical couple hours in this beautiful vineyard! The Pupillo family bought the stunning castle & grounds and have converted it to a virtually self-sufficient and environmentally vineyard. The location is beautiful & our charming guide Julia was very knowledgeable and entertaining. An unexpected bonus was free time to explore the beautiful gardens.
