Parco Fluviale del Nera — Attraction in Terni

The park and falls are amazing with many points with a great vista. Price is 10€, that is fair. There are 5 or 6 trails to follow. Some of them are disrupted and apparently the company that started to fix them is broke, because the improvement works have been abandoned, and should have been finished years ago. The 2 stars rating is because there is one of the trails, the 2nd if I am not wrong, that is pretty difficult with around 700 "stairs" and that can be done going up or down. Long story short, on the maps and on internet, you will find that you can do the trail in the direction you prefer and, when you are done, you will be able to take a bus to go back where you starded (and to you car). In reality this bus, or any other bus was non existent and you had to do the tough trail again if you wanted to leave. There were, in fact, many families with childrens and older people complaining about this, because nobody told them about this when they entered and asked for informations. A woman that we knew during the walk had to call an ambulance because she hurt her foot and wasn't, of course, able to do the trail back to her car. Apparently in september, the bus is active only on Saturday and Sunday, but with so many tourists still around in this season, they should tell you, or write somewhre this small detail. I personally asked the difficulty of thos trail when I started, and nobody mentioned to me that I would have been obliged to...

I didn't expect to be so impressed by this parc. But first: I give it 4 stars because of the flaws at the entrance of the parc. Cards were not accepted for payment because of technical issues - a tourist attraction this size should provide back- up and fast technical intervention. Many had to find the cash money elsewhere in order to pay the tickets. That's a shame. Once in the parc though everyting is well organsied, with good information all over the area. Botanical educational parc, short walks and long climbs to the top: everyone will find something to his/her liking. As for the main attraction: the waterfalls: these are really impressive. The release of the mass of water on itself is not the main attraction in my opinion. It's the shear massive waterfall in stages that steals the show. Nature around it has adapted to the moisty air, so expect to find a very lush, green, cooling forest around the falls. It was hot when I visited the site; the spray of the falls brought a welcome refreshment. There plenty of catering facilities around. Whenever your near the area: hop in, take some time ( half a day), and enjoy the beauty...

Le cascate delle Marmore sono semplicemente meravigliose e in questo periodo della primavera la portata d' acqua è imponente, impetuosa, nel massimo del suo splendore, da ammirare lungo tutte le angolature. Diversa la veduta in estate, quando il flusso è molto più ridotto. Vale la pena fare i biglietti nel livello superiore ( fila comunque lunga ma abbastanza scorrevole) da vedere almeno fino al secondo step, scendendo la scaletta, dove c' è il baldacchino di pietra. Per la rotonda degli innamorati più sotto bisogna fare un biglietto a parte e ci vuole la prenotazione. Noi non l' avevamo...peccato. Poi siamo scesi in macchina per vedere l' imperdibile livello inferiore che ho già descritto. Fino a poco tempo fa era consigliabile scendere tutte le scalette per arrivare sotto perchè poi, dopo la visita al livello inferiore, c' era la navetta che riportava sopra dove era parcheggiata la macchina. Da poco la nuova amministrazione ( me l' ha spiegato un esercente delle varie attività turistiche presenti, che mi ha detto anche di che parte politica si tratta ) ha fatto togliere la navetta nonostante le varie proteste, se era per la spesa bastava aggiungere qualcosina al biglietto perchè la risalita non è per tutte le capacità ed età. Il biglietto vale per tutti e due i livelli ed è obbligatorio se si vuole vedere la cascata perchè da non so quanti anni hanno sistemato alti muretti e siepi , non troppo invasivi ma che comunque impediscono la visuale dalla strada, come invece l' avevo vista tanti anni fa . Ho sentito persone che stavano ritornando e si lamentavano perchè non si vedeva niente, evidentemente erano rimasti al tempo in cui la visuale era non bloccata, libera e quindi gratuita e...non hanno pagato il biglietto che costa 12 euro. Il panorama per arrivare è molto piacevole. All' inizio della strada provinciale che porta al livello superiore sulla destra c' è una piccola struttura interamente di legno per fermarsi a ristorarsi, sembra un piccolo saloon del Far West. La giovane donna dall' aria seria che lo gestisce tutto l' anno ha il cuore d' oro : da due anni ha adottato una giovane cagnetta dal pelo dorato, Diana, che è stata abbandonata lì mezza morta dalle botte, a raccontarlo la signora si...
