Make sure you get here at 9am to start the walk, it really should be open earlier so you miss the midday sun, but like most things here it's not extremely well thought out. It really would be an amazing walk if you could set off around 7am, Take plenty of water and sun cream, it's about a 14km round trip. Also you need to book a ticket for the last section or your walk will be wasted.

Premetto che nonostante sia abbastanza allenata, il periodo in cui ho fatto questo primo check del percorso non è sicuramente il più indicato (35°C, 25 Agosto!). Partendo dal cancello principale sono circa 3 ore di cammino in salita fino all'ingresso cratere e un paio a scendere. Punti positivi: innanzitutto...il panorama! uno spettacolo! paesaggisticamente merita molto! Bella fauna soprattutto per appassionati di birdwatching. Il personale all'ingresso è puntuale e cordiale e fornisce tutte le informazioni richieste. Nessun costo di ingresso. Purtroppo, come tante altre meraviglie in questi luoghi...poco valorizzato. Nessun punto ristoro, niente bagno nemmeno all'ingresso o possibilità di comprare anche una semplice bottiglietta d'acqua. Nessuna info durante il percorso sulla distanza percorsa-mancante. Poche possibilità di parcheggiare ed orari troppo ristretti per potersi permettere anche la visita del cratere (considerando di dover tornare). Consigli: abbigliamento adeguato, tanta acqua e protezione solare/occhiali da solo/cappellino per l'estate.

Resulat, bien qu’indiqué ouvert sur le site internet du parc, l’itinéraire n°5, était inaccessible, le portail étant verrouillé. Deux heures de perdu. On a vraiment l’impression d’être traité comme du bétail, la seule chose qui fonctionne est la billetterie à l’arrivée des autobus. Même le tour du cratère n’est faisable qu’à moitié (sans explication), mais au prix fort. Bref une très mauvaise expérience avec le Parc National du Vésuve. Pour moi c’est la caricature du tourisme de masse, même si le public est mécontent, il y en aura d’autres qui viendront l’année d’après donc pourquoi faire des efforts.

We only did the first part, but really enjoyed the views and all the nature. The gate is open until 5pm, you have to sign in (no fee). There is plenty of space to leave a car on the road before the gate. The path is a wide concrete path far better paved than most roads lol. We'd hoped to get food nearby but most of the restaurants marked on Google maps are actually wedding venues and weren't open. As others have noted to go to the summit you need to buy a ticket in...

Wir waren hier mit Hund und 11 Monat alten Baby sind die Strecke nur 3km hoch. Wollten nur ein bisschen mit dem Hund Gassi gehen und die Aussicht auf den Golf von Neapel genießen die hier Prima ist. Wenn man jedoch zum Krater möchte muss man etwas aufwendig online ein Ticket buchen das mir etwas zu blöd war ehrlich gesagt. Die Strecke ist betoniert und wären wir länger hier gewesen wäre ich mit dem Fahrrad hier noch hoch den dafür ist es super da hier keine Autos hochfahren und nicht all zu steil ist. Ansonsten wäre die Strecke im großen und ganzen perfekt wenn man den Vesuv erklimmen möchte ohne Verkehr. Park Möglichkeiten fürs Auto sind nicht wirklich gegeben. Wenn nichts los ist kann man jedoch ohne Probleme vor dem Kontrollhaus parken. Wenn man nicht den Kraterbesuchen möchte ist die Strecke bis zum zweiten Kontrollspot kostenlos. Man muss sich nur am ersten Kontrollpunkt in ein Buch einschreiben. Quasi ein checken und aus checken. Schade ist nur das es erst um 9:00 Uhr öffnet so das es jetzt im April schon um 10:00Uhr 22 Grad hatte. Was jetzt für unseren Hund (Hitzeempfindlich) blöd ist. Eher wäre natürlich schöner. Aktuell ist das Tor um 15:00 Uhr...
