Had a lovely day here at Parco Cavour today. We visited on Wed 31st July. One of the hottest days of the year with our 5 year old. I would recommend coming on a Tue, Wed, or Thu for a quieter experience. We waited maximum maybe 3 minutes in line.
The park is definitely aimed at younger kids. There are 2 what you might call adrenaline slides and many other smaller slides and splash areas. There is plenty of grass area with shade to set up camp for the day.
We purchased a Samoa cabana for the day for €69. It’s located in a roped off area of the main palm beach they call Cocobay. This area has lockers available for rent at €8 per day and to get €3 back when you return the key. It has also a jacuzzi, hammocks, 2 small changing cubicles and bar service with a waiter who services the private area. It was well worth the extra price for us to have a nice shaded area with a large sunbed with netted curtains to rest during lunch and have a picnic. The cabanas can be booked in advance but they keep some available to purchase on the day also.
The pools are well maintained with many of them having sand bottoms, nice for walking on. If you are not used to walking bare foot you will need some kind of flip flops because the paths get very hot. People leave their flip flops at the entrance to the play areas and collect them on the way out.
Finally don’t forget your bug spray! There are many flies that like to gather in the grass areas. If you are walking from area to area you may be tempted to take a short cut across the grass but stick to the path and they won’t bother...
Read moreToday we went to visit Aqua park Cavour. It is located 16 km from our location in Castelnuovo del Garda. Although I was there during the week, not on the weekend, the parking lot was quite crowded. Parking costs 3 euros and is opposite the aquapark. With a little luck you can also find the shade of a tree at the car park. The entrance to the Aqua park costs 27 euros per person, a little cheaper if you pay online or if you buy a package for 2 days. I mention that the other day I went to Caneva Aqua park where the entrance costs 34 euros. Although it is theoretically lower ranked than Caneva or Gardaland and is located in a rural area in the middle of the field, we were pleasantly impressed by the facilities, equipment and the feeling of free space offered. Of course, it has slides with different difficulties, swimming pools, recreation areas, beaches with fine sand, fast food areas like other similar parks, but here in particular I didn't have the feeling of crowding, you don't expect much from different entertainments! A big plus from me! As main attractions: Egypt's central sand pool (extra charge for umbrellas and sunbeds), Iceberg and Kamikaze slides, swimming pool, fish lake. The prices at the fast food terraces are quite steep, like everywhere else. As a negative thing I would mention the annoying presence of midges. All in all we felt good at this Aqua park and I really recommend it as a fun destination if you come to the Peschiera -...
Read moreThis is a great water park, I'm so glad we went there. It was last week of Aug. and it didn't feel too crowded. There is a lot of parking, but costs 3€, cash only (why take extra for it? you can raise the entry price anyway). Entry is divided to full day or half day, so if you come after 14:30 (I think) you pay less. The park is very big with lots of trees and grass (totally green and fresh). There are free parasols in few areas around, so there is no reason not to get shade. In the middle there is the beach, which is so nice (true sand and palm trees), but you better reserve your spots there. Later in the day there was some Caribbean dancing there. There is also the "Paradise Island“ for children up to 8yo (more or less) with beach sand and palm trees. Sunbeds there were available to rent most of the day. Around 16:00 it was the peak number of people, but still not as bad as I'd expect a water park in August. The food and shops in the park are priced very reasonably, there are a few places around to buy food and some tables to sit and there's also a big "picnic area" with many many tables. This place was definitely a good experience (not only for my daughter but also for me) and I'm so much going to go there again if I'll be around Garda again...
