It is the superb and hospitable welcome to overnight guests from Eric and his team, and the really excellent food that makes this, my mate John's vote, "the best in the Alps!" The wines are also very extensive and very good too, and the food is both plentiful and extremely tasty. Coffee - excellent. There is a really good atmosphere in the evenings - in the day it can be very busy with tourists from the telecabine.||||This modest-sized hut is perched on the Italian-Swiss border, with views to the Matterhorn and the Breithorn. It has an outside sun terrace, as well as a second sheltered terrace, perfect for a rewarding beer after a good climb, walk, or ski. Not far from the top of the ski tows, and right by the Cervinia telecabine, it is very accessible.||||The rooms are cosy, and although the shower doesn't work, most huts don't have these anyway. Drying facilities are cramped, as is storage, but this is all compensated by the above.
