Juval Castle — Attraction in Vinschgau - Val Venosta

We decided to stop and visit the castle on our way to Merano, after we previously visited the MMM Ortles in Sulden and had a great experience there, but unfortunately we didn't get the chance to see this museum, even though we were right on time for the shuttle. A "very polite" lady who was driving the shuttle was not willing to answer any question (we didn't know if we could buy tickets directly from the driver), she just replied in a very irritated tone: "only German or Italian" (in German). There was another shuttle driver who didn't even bother to ask if any help was needed. We were the only two English speakers among other ten German speakers who were being welcomed and asked very politly to board the shuttle, while we were left there. Basically, no one is eager to help as long as you're not speaking German, or Italian. This is quite absurd and denotes lack of professionalism, considering that the Messner Mountain Museums should be accessible to anyone, internationally, regardless of nationality or spoken language. The beautiful castle mansion and museum of the climber Reinhold Messner. The castle offers a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The museum has its own charm of time, and inside in different parts of the castle there are souvenirs from trips and expeditions. At times, one has the feeling of being in a Buddhist monastery at the foot of the Himalayan 8000. Everything is painted with attention to detail. The glass-roofed seating is wonderful, where it must be lovely to sit at night and watch the stars. Access to the top is possible from the roadside car park at a cost of 6,Eu per person by Mercedes Vito trasporter. Parking downstairs for the whole day is 4-,Eu. Entrance to the castle is for 14-,Eu per adult. A child under 18 years of age can enter for 6-,Eu. No entry with dog or bag. The way down is easily manageable on foot, I wouldn't go up, it's quite a hill. I can highly recommend...

Una meta tra le più suggestive di tutta la Val Venosta: Castel Juval ha un fascino senza tempo. Ci torno ogni anno in ottobre, il periodo più bello, è un misto di colori e profumi e spiccano le particolarità di un territorio che merita di essere conosciuto. Il signore del castello è nientemeno che Reinhold Messner, il grandissimo alpinista che ha trasformato questa dimora in un sito che è un museo unico nel suo genere e racconta l'epopea delle sue conquiste straordinarie. Le stanze di questa antica dimora, colme di reperti e memorie, fanno rivivere le sue avventure e rendono la visita un'esperienza notevole. Purtroppo adesso, causa covid non è visitabile ma l'escursione merita in ogni caso di essere fatta. Non si può non percorrere il wallweg che , partendo da Ciardes porta con una passeggiata di circa 50 minuti a scoprire le peculiarità irresistibili del monte Sole e al castello. Già il nome "Sole"fa capire che l'esposizione ai suoi raggi caldi fa la differenza nella crescita di una vegetazione di grande varietà e con sorprendenti presenze inimmaginabili. Ma cos'è un Wall weg? È una opera di altissima tecnologia che viene dal passato: la costruzione di un complesso sistema di recupero di risorse idriche preziosissime per la sussistenza dei popoli dal neolitico ai giorni nostri, opere idrauliche di grande rilievo. Passeggiando quindi lungo questa via d'acqua(waalweg) fiancheggiata dal sentiero 1A, lungo la roggia,si gode un panorama impareggiabile della valle e della ricca flora che a tratti risulta steppica, a momenti quasi mediterranea e con vigneti e vegetazione dai colori straordinari. I canali sono stati scolpiti in parte a mano dai contadini nelle rocce. Lungo il percorso si trova il bel Maso Sonnenhof , poco sotto il castello , dove è consigliato sostare sulla terrazza soleggiata e gustare i prelibati prodotti dei contadini, dal superbo succo.di mele fatto al momento ai piatti tipici di grande bontà .È un percorso romantico con un dislivello di ca 300 metri. Si può ritornare a Ciardes attraverso un altro sentiero , ad esempio quello dei cactus, sì c'è proprio una curiosa distesa di cactus...una cosa da...
