Vigna di Pettineo — Attraction in Vittoria

We spent an incredible 2+hours at this wonderful winery in mid-September. Due to a miscommunication on my part, we arrived more than 2 hours before we were expected. They gave us some water, had us sit in a lovely room with couches, a fireplace, and opera music playing, and put together an amazing “light lunch!” to go with the tasting. Look at the picture of the spread of food for just the 2 of us! And more came out after the picture was taken! We met the 4th generation wine maker (in the picture with us), their knowledgeable somm, and an excellent translator for the trickier explanations. The wines were absolutely delicious! We had their Grillo, Frappata, Cerusuela di Vittoria (a DOCG), and Nero d’Avola. We loved them all! But later in the trip a restaurant had them on their wine menu, and we chose to get the Nero d’Avola with our dinner, so I guess that was our favorite. Beautiful organic estate, with a mature vineyard and orange groves. Davide gave us a tour around the estate, and shared his knowledge with enthusiasm! Abbiamo soggiornato a Vigna di Pettineo lo scorso fine settimana (3 notti) insieme a un gruppo di amici e ci siamo trovati davvero bene. Noi avevamo prenotato l’appartamento con 10 posti letto: la casa è ben tenuta, molto luminosa e tutte le camere sono spaziose e luminose. Presenti finestre o porte-finestre in tutte le camere, i servizi e gli spazi comuni, tutte dotate di zanzariere. Si trova immersa in un vigneto come è facile immaginare e la piscina, che affaccia proprio sul vigneto, regala una vista spettacolare e tramonti davvero mozzafiato. Un aspetto che merita una menzione speciale è la gentilezza e disponibilità di Alessia, con cui siamo stati in contatto tramite WhatsApp, sempre molto celere nelle risposte e soprattutto super a disposizione per qualsiasi nostra esigenza.

Piccoli aspetti da migliorare: il Wi-Fi funziona male e la pulizia delle camere andrebbe curata un po’ di più, soprattutto sotto i letti e negli angoli dove abbiamo trovato polvere e qualche capello. In compenso, i servizi erano molto puliti e, in generale, la casa si presentava ordinata.
