I went on a weekday so the garden was empty.. There's a lot of areas to walk around and explore. There's even a hiking trail. I didn't reach the top so not sure what is at the end. The garden has two main seating areas with tables and one of the areas can accommodate more chairs and tables if you wish to carry. Mosquitoes and bugs are a nuisance but at certain parts of the garden they weren't as much present compared to other parts. A lot of insect souds, branches falling and mysterious footsteps were heard. But for the most part all was well. You can still hear the cars passing which means help would be close. And a police station is across the road. Across the road from the garden is the river which is beautiful. The flow wasn't strong. I'm assuming it's because of a lack of rain of recent. You can carry your food and eat on the rocks or by the river side. The cost to enter is $100 and this covers for both the river and...

This is a nice and peaceful space, unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the river but I will do so the next time I visit. You pay an entry fee of only $100 jmd per person, yes that’s right, one hundred Jamaican dollars. There is one half of castleton gardens with the river and also another part across the road which I think is the garden. The river does not have a really strong current which makes it safe for persons who can’t swim, the river is not that deep and even little toddlers can walk in most parts of the water. There are little fish in the water which was nice to see and it was a good overall experience for my family. There is a bathroom facility, I did not really notice a wheelchair access point, i saw they have a spot where u can cook on the river. I will give another review with more photos the next time I visit which will be...

Pros: It's free to enter! The natural ambience is very nice. The gentle river, boulders, trees, birds and natural ground make the place a whimsical getaway. There is good parking on the roadside. There are private spots that you can have for yourself. Seats are provided with tables in the park. The water is not cold at all. You can have whatever fruit is there growing to eat - free.

Cons: When you park on the roadside, you cannot see your vehicle from inside the park. There is no visible lifeguard or staff, so basically you're left on your own. The rocks are slippery in some places. Algae washes down the river, so watch your face. Thinking of a changing room? Bring a towel and a friend, as there is no obvious changing room. A locker would be a good place to keep your things, instead of a friend guarding them on...

A small piece of Jamaican paradise tucked away in the hills of St. Mary. Located near to thr border of St. Andrew, these gardens offer rolling lawns that are great for picnicking, weddings or just to lay on for a nap. The gardens are located on both sides of the Castleton main road. Escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and go take a dip in the cool waters of the Wag Water River which runs through the eastern side of the gardens. The grounds are well secure and the area is perfect for family outings, and even company events. Perfect spot for nature lovers and for those who are just seeking a place to relax. Tour the gardens at your own pace or even ask for a guided tour with one of the knowledgeable guides as they inform you of the history of the gardens and also the story behind the plants locatee there.
