You simply can't visit Kingston without stopping by Devon House. Recently, I, along with several family members, decided to book a tour of this historic site, guided by a delightful and knowledgeable tour guide. The history of this magnificent house is truly fascinating. Today, Devon House stands as a national heritage site owned by the Jamaican Government. It was built by George Stiebel, who is believed to be Jamaica's first black millionaire (c.1821-1896). While we were there, we had the chance to sample their award-winning ice cream. I opted for the pistachio flavor, and it was absolutely delicious! If only we had more time, I would have happily gone back for seconds. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return, if only for the ice cream!

This great-house is always fun to tour. The history in the place seeps out of every well maintained antique and every immaculate room. The tours themselves are a bit hit and miss. Every time I’ve been the guides do an acceptable job, however some take much more time and are visibly enjoying giving the tour, where as others tend to rush through it. The price is quite high and if the guide rushes through the house it can leave you feeling a bit flat. The first tour we had (2023) was nearly twice as long as the last one (summer 2025). Overall, it’s a great tour to take and I highly recommend it for its historical value and local relevance. Your mileage may vary.

Visited here as I always missed going before. Walked around and didn't see much of interest just a tourist trap. Was not going to pay to see inside the house im sure its on tiktok or youtube! Got a patty to try and it was not what I expected. I bought a bbq pork patty that was filled with a too dark filling which put me off. Apart from getting ice cream and having a sit on the grassed areas on a Sunday I cant see myself returning here pure walking up and down and expensive priced jewellery.

Took my family on a treat to get ice cream and to see sample the patties. The physical development that was done made the property appealing and welcoming 👍 However, the server - Britania that served us at the ice cream section was very rude, curt and unwelcoming. We greeted her with respect and a smile but all we got was responses as if we were bothering her. Your servers should be trained in customer service. Other than that the ice cream was good...the curry goat patty was a bit salty but okay👍improve the customer service quality which will add a great deal of value to your...
