With all the great reviews, the beautiful website pictures and their exotic descriptions of their excursions, we were ecstatic to go to Jamwest. That was not our experience at all and with Covid, you would think their services would be over and above 100% because hardly anyone is there. Sad to say, It was not even close. We wasted a lot of our money at this place and wish we would have stayed at the resort that day.
First impression when we pulled in; the park looks tired, run down and messy.
Second impression; the staff looked lost, angry or had their hands out for tips.
Every vacation, we go on excursions. We aren’t experts, but we have an idea of what to expect and the quality of the activities were below average. I would never book with them again nor would I recommend them to anyone else.
The ATV ride was average but short. If we were out there a full hour I would be surprised. You do not go into the village and interact with the locals like their website says. The closest you come to the village is riding by the road to get to the village. You stop at a tiny bar on the ocean which is awkward because they tell you to leave your stuff in a locker so we had no money.
After the ATV we were rushed to a truck to go to the horses. We were not impressed. The poor horses looked so tired and thin I almost didn't go. Our ride was about 20 minutes down a two track to a rocky beach at the ocean. The horses did not want to go into the water. It was not the 60 minute amazing and unique experience as they describe in their brochure. We did not get to ride back to the stables. They had us ride in a jeep while they forced the horses to run down the two track back to the barns. It was awful watching the horses run in front of the jeep.
The whole excursion was nothing like the beautiful scenery you see online or in the brochure.
We were supposed to go to the mineral bath after our horseback ride but their was so much confusion on our tickets that we we not able to go. The attendant came rushing to us and said our bus was leaving and we had to go. We didn't get to take the mineral bath and we didn't get to have lunch or go to the gift store. With covid hurting so many business' you would think business' would be on top of their game.
We were told not to bring our cameras. I figured out why, they don't want you taking pictures of the delipidated place and they have a photographer that takes 4 or 5 pictures then tries to sell them to you after your trip.
P.S. it is NOT 20 minutes from Negril. It's more like an hour! They have a lot of misleading things on...
Read moreThis was a wild 3 hour shuttle ride from our hotel and when we got there at about 1 pm or so they took our lunch orders and said we do both excursions (each 1 hr a piece) then after those 2 hours we come back to eat. The meal for two people was like $35, very limited options (chicken wings, chicken fingers etc) but it was good food.
We did the zip line first. Michael and his partner were good instructors and it was a fun time. Tbh I have done better zip line tours when I was in TN and The Dominican Republic. Where you actually go up a mountain and zip line your way down. This one you climb a tower and then zip line down to some other ones. The cost other times was about the same as this one, but for what it was it was a cool experience for someone who hasn’t done them before.
Next we did the ATVs which was why I rated it 3 stars. They didn’t have face coverings to give out for the dust and when I went to buy some they were all out. After you watch the instructional video and demonstration then you get to pick what vehicle you want. After that you ride around the practice track for like 20 minutes. During this phase it looked like they were looking at the vehicles as they passed and inspecting them while waiting to see if any had problems and needed to be switched out. After you do like 8 laps on the practice course then we finally hit the trail. It was such a short ride compared to the one I did in the Dominican Republic. You are only on this trail for like 30 minutes or So. They stop once on the way back at a rest stop. A small make shift stand where you can sign your name on the wood and purchase refreshments ( money grab) because the excursion isn’t that long.
Once we finished this excursion we went back to the main building and waited for lunch. They don’t start prepping it until you sit down and give them your ticket number. The wait took forever, almost an hour to make some wings and fries. Then a 3 hour ride back. If you have time get some pastries from the cafe they had in there. The lemon cake I got was bomb, I wish I got some of the other options.
Overall a decent experience, I wish the atv ride was an actual hour on the trail and not eaten up with practice rounds. They also have some parrots and other animals you can look at. My other family said the horseback ride was really cool. But beware there is a 240 lb limit for the horses. Which they didn’t mention at the hotel when we booked the excursion so 1 of our group...
Read moreDisastrous Group ATV Experience & Unacceptable Management - Avoid for Large Groups!
Our group of 23 people visited Jamwest Motorsports and Adventure Park on July 17, 2025, specifically for a collective ATV experience, eagerly anticipating a fun family adventure. What we got was an utter disaster, marked by disorganization, wasted time, and incredibly unhelpful customer service regarding a refund. Despite booking as a large group, we were immediately mixed with multiple other smaller groups, completely undermining our intention to stay together. This meant our own family members were separated, riding in different parts of the convoy. To make matters worse, 6 members of our group initially didn't even get to do the full excursion, including the warm-up! While guides scrambled to find extra ATVs and even allowed a 2-person buggy for one person, this created massive delays. The last two individuals from our group had to go on a separate, later ride with other family members, meaning our entire group NEVER experienced the ATV tour together. We wasted hours waiting around due to their operational failures – precious vacation time we'll never get back. I spent a significant amount of time speaking with the General Manager, David Booth, explaining the severity of our disappointment. His response was shockingly unhelpful. He initially offered drinks for our wait, only to retract the offer later. He then proposed a paltry, unconfirmed 50% refund for just TWO people out of our group of 23, and seemed powerless to do anything more, simply directing me to a general email address. His constant message that he was "unable to do anything" was beyond frustrating. We paid for a cohesive, enjoyable group experience that was simply not delivered. The fragmentation, the extensive wasted time, and the unhelpful management response are unacceptable. Jamwest failed on every count. Potential visitors, especially large groups, be warned: your experience may be severely compromised, and don't expect any real resolution on-site. This was a complete waste of...
