Cape Koumo — Attraction in Ainan

This is one of the best place to visit in Ainan town. The place is in Ashizuri national park. We drove there from the port and different driving routes can be chosen. The one by the ocean is narrow and crosses through several fishermen villages. There is wider mountain roads as well. I recommend to go there around sun down. On the way there is diving place and submarine riding place which is worth trying. The water there is exceptionally clean and blue with colorful fishes visible even from the surface. The road to cape is narrow but easy to drive and you can see wild lives like Japanese monkey if lucky. 愛媛県の南端に位置する観光名所。国立公園扱いとなっています。夕日スポットとして有名な所です。

視界を遮るものはないので海と沿岸部の絶景を楽しめる。遊歩道も整備されており少し下まで降りていけます。 これといった特徴はないがちょっぴり果て感のある場所です。バイクツーリングの目的地にするのも良いかと思います。

現地まではカーブの多い道を延々と走る必要がある。よく使われる西側の道路を通った感じでは狭くないが坂と見通しの悪いカーブで少し疲れる。地元の人に聞いたところ、東側のルートもカーブが多く道幅は狭いとのことです。

無料駐車場、トイレ有り。キレイに整備されています。駐車場にある建物の屋上に上がる事も可能。
