Taiheizan Opas Ski Resort — Attraction in Akita

Went there a few days ago of december 2024. Here are some pointers. First off, yes, only 1 lift was working. I believe the second lift was inoperable due to bring the conditions for the 2nd lift weren't that great. Also my family isn't pros, we are beginners and we felt that this mountain was perfect for us.

This is an older ski resort, but the prices were on the reasonable side. A family of 4 costed us about 16000 yen. The place isn't a wow factor, but I am not here to be impressed by their facilities, I just was to snowboard. The only down side was the speed of the lift. It took about 15 minutes to get to the top of the mountain.

The food there wasn't too bad. At least they had food available. They had a small Cafe with some hot items, about 18 different things to choose from.

Lastly the staff. To me, the staff was friendly. They couldn't speak a lot of English, but they tried and a lot of thr check on staff had google translate. As for the old man in the front, they were friendly to me. I could speak a little Japanese so it might have helped, but I would definitely...

The ski area is small but it's the best place to learn skiing if you're a beginner. One down side is that they don't have bigger shoes ski size for men..it was a bit...
