Kinsakubaru Old-growth Forest — Attraction in Amami

Do you need a guided tour to see this area? Maybe if you are a botanist. I am not and I was very pleased with the 11 K walk over a rindo road towards the park entrance. I can’t judge if the park itself is very different, but I assume not. There is a small car park a little up the road. We parked next to the main road immediately after the tunnel from Amami and just before the Daihatsu dealership. Plenty of space. The road up is very well maintained but can be a bit slippery. Must have a local guide to explore the place, so that you get to know the local life, stories and about faunal and floral ecosystem here. It is 150% worth it. My guide was Mr. Hiro (I can share his contact), he is kind and super helpful with knowledgeable insights about Amami, the diversity system. He guided time to the furthest point of the tour, where not many tourists come, and I can say who never make it miss our true best part. Highly recommend. 奄美の森を満喫できるスポットです。珍しい花や植物、鳥たちが出迎えてくれます。奄美は海も素晴らしいですが、山もすばらしく、ルリカケスやアカショウビンの鳴き声を聞くことができ、運が良ければ実物も見れます。注意が一つ。時折自分達だけでレンタカーで入ってくる観光客を見かけますが絶対にやめましょう。まず自分達だけで訪れてもどこを見て良いかわからず、ただの森歩きになります。中には触ってはいけない植物もあります。また金作原に入っていく道は極めて細く対向車が来たときにかわす場所を間違えると車が抜け出れなくなります。道も岩が飛び出た悪路で普通の車ならば腹をこすります。飛び出た植物でも頻繁に車をこすります。そして携帯の通じない場所もたくさんあります。私が訪れたのは昼でしたが、絶対にガイドを雇いましょう。探せば手軽な価格でツアーがあり、ホテルまで迎えに来てくれるところもあるので便利です。手軽なツアーならば午前中だけでも🆗。すばらしい解説で奄美の森を満喫できます。あと当たり前ですが、森の植物や生き物を持ち帰るのは絶対にやめましょう。罪にもなりますが、奄美の美しく貴重な森を見学させていただいているという気持ちを忘れず、みんなで自然を守るという姿勢で参加され...
