•Indigo dyeing workshop: Reservations are required, cash only (there is no ATM on site). The ladies who work there are so friendly and helpful. You choose from a variety of sample designs, and different size fabrics are priced accordingly. The prices are quite reasonable, my handkerchief was under ¥1500.

They'll help you with your technique to get it just right. It took me about an hour to dye a handkerchief from start to finish. You'll take it home wet, in a plastic bag, and it's going to smell strongly for some time. I washed mine several times to no avail, but it did stop smelling after a few wears...
