Really lovely garden just about a 25 minute drive from central Asahikawa. I came late, an hour before closing and with rain threatening (and in a time where tourism has all but collapsed), so perhaps it is usually busier, but it was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. There are a few different gardens somewhat separated from one another, and I would have been happy to curl up on a bench for an hour or two and watch the butterflies and bees roam. We saw 15 gnomes and our friends found 17. They refuse to reveal how many gnomes are there in total understandably to keep the game in suspense. Allow 1 hour at least for this fairytale land as other...
