Sanai no Oka Observatory Park — Attraction in Biei

After visiting Shikisai-no-Oka, we drove to Sanai-no-Oka on the way back to Furano. Sanai-no-Oka occupies a small hill besides the road and car park. It is not a destination attraction per se but is still a nice and quiet place to enjoy the beautiful 360º panoramic views.

When my wife and I visited in July, there were 2 small family groups present. Perhaps its remote location makes it conducive for drivers to break their journey here and take a rest. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing.

2023.07　水曜／パノラマロード・三愛の丘展望公園（北海道南北の旅） 【所要時間】15分【費用】無料　【駐車場】無料 【感想】三愛の丘展望公園は、少し高台にあり、丘の重なりが展望できます。上に登って、木々の間からもよい眺めがあり、７月の木陰は、ず～っといたくなるような場所でした。トイレもありますし、メジャーな観光場所ではないので、ゆっくりできます。 旭川市街から車で約２０ｋｍ、４０分で着きます。パッチワークの路、パノラマロードは、だだっ広く高低差もありますが、自転車で廻られている方もちらほら。ただし、道の傍らには、６０ｋｍコースとの看板！ パッチワークの路（昔は、丘っていっていたような？）は、ＣＭや商品のパッケージの写真で有名なので、３０数年前にも来たことがあります。 セブンスター、マイルドセブンと喫煙文化が衰退している今の方は、名前の由来もわからないでしょうね。 パノラマロードは、十勝岳をバックに、幾重にもかさなった丘が続きます。 ところどころの観光地には、ちゃんと駐車場や、トイレまでありますので、便利です。ただし、私有地も近くにあるので、配慮が必要ですね。 【前の訪問地】パッチワークの路・ケンとメリーの木 ...
