We visited on August 15th 2025, just the right time as the sunflowers are in full bloom! 😍🌻 The festival will start the next day on Aug 16th, so we're lucky that it was not that crowded when we visited. Unfortunately, please note that this place is HARD to reach if you do NOT drive. We took bus from Usa Station to Nagasakibana bus stop and it took around 50 minutes. We had to walk another 27 minutes from the Bus Station to reach the sunflower field. It was scorching hot 33°C and no shade. Blessing for us, we bumped into 2 kind ladies who allowed us to ride along in their car till we reach the entrance. We enjoyed the fields, took some photos and videos. We tried the hokkaido ice cream and the blueberry yoghurt ice cream (the blueberry is our favorite!) and had pizzas for snack. When we planned to go home, we struggled to find the ride back to bus stop until finally the 3rd person we talked to allowed us to join their car! It was so kind of them! Thank you Yokohama couple, they even drove us back to Usa station since we missed the last bus on that day (Last bus is at 16.12). We arrived just in time to catch our train back home! Thank you guys 😊

We went in the rain and were lucky because we went back the next week (2020/9/30) and they were all sad and dead basically. Heavy rain really killed the sunflowers. But we enjoyed the beach for a Bit. Parking is ¥500 and you can use the same pass at the lower or upper lot. The upper lot has a cafe similar to the beach, plus the check in for the camp grounds and maps of the cycling route. The lower peach and sunflower area has a small cafe too which sells out of food by 12:30 on weekends. There’s general stuff, takoyaki, yakisoba, hot dogs, kakigori and some juices and alcohols. The cafe at the top has Chibata type roll sandwiches plus ice cream and kakigori. The blueberry smoothie isn’t worth it and the flower flavor ice creams aren’t too good either. Stick with kakigori. The sunflower area is vast if you time it right. I didn’t see a place to buy sunflowers tho which was a waste. The beach itself is rather small. Nor are there fields or anything that I saw to play at. But there was a lot of campground I didn’t explore. Seems like a nice place to chill for a while.

This place is “🌼Yellow Heaven🌼”. Even on the way to the parking lot, I had a sense that something incredible was waiting— but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. A massive field of blooming canola flowers stretches out in every direction, so vibrant and overwhelming that I found myself gasping more than once. Even as soft pink cherry blossoms and the deep blue sea added touches of contrast, the endless waves of yellow simply dominated the scene. While snapping photos, I couldn’t stop whispering, “This is crazy.” It’s one of those rare places where nature completely takes your breath away. If you’re anywhere near during the season, visiting here is an absolute must.
