Chitose Outlet Mall RERA — Attraction in Chitose

Bought a large luggage there from the Samsonite outlet store & had a very disappointing buying experience due to very poor customer service from the staff. This store had the worst customer service compared with the other Rera stores which I also bought items from. Don't expect the usual excellent friendly & professional Japanese customer service here. The staff just left the luggage I paid for opened on a table for my inspection & after my inspection, they just left it there (and left me standing there wondering what's next), expecting me to (and I did) close it, bring in down from the table, wheel it and leave. I then discovered a scratch on the luggage (when about to bring it down myself) and requested to change to a new piece and was told I was not allowed to and that I either take this defective piece or the display piece and was told that I should expect defects when buying at this outlet and this is the norm in Japan. Had visited outlets in USA, HK, France and highlighted that usually defects will be clearly made known on the product or during purchase however staff insisted that this is not the case in Japan outlets. Staff was rude after I demanded for my customer rights to change and inspect another piece or another colour of the same model. Overall, will never shop there again and if my luggage wheels hadn't had given way, I would not have bought this. From a disappointed loyal customer of Samsonite (I only use Samsonite) & will be writing to Samsonite corporate to express my disappointment with the service received from this...

Really waste of time coming here. Visited on 1st June (Thu) 2023.

Had a bit of spare time before returning our rental car, so decided to drive here and check this out. The reviews were correct, this is really a ghost mall, with less than 1/3 of the place being open. For those shops that are open, the items offered are those rejected goods, odd colours and not very cheap either. Was excited to visit the ABC mart, but the shoes selection wasn't great, though the prices are cheaper (though not too much cheaper than in Sapporo). Pls go to the shops in Sapporo for better and newer designs.

The management really needs to review the state of this place to make it more attractive...

While Chitose Outlet Mall RERA offers abundant parking space and a convenient location close to New Chitose Airport and Minami-Chitose Station, the center feels rather desolate with most storefronts remaining vacant. The management should actively seek to invite more tenants to revitalize the place and make it a compelling shopping destination for both locals and tourists. Alternatively, visitors may consider exploring the bustling outlet mall in Kitahiroshima for a more engaging shopping experience. Despite current shortcomings, RERA's potential is undeniable with the right mix of tenants. Three stars for the convenience...
