自在ガラス体験工房＆ギャラリー — Attraction in Fujikawaguchiko

A really lovely place with the sweetest owners. I called in to check for reservations and directions - and thankfully I did, because it was snowing hard that day and would’ve been very difficult to visit by public transport. They told me to take a cab, which is capped at 2000 yen (great) and even offered to drive us back to the station after!

The workshop itself was really detailed and super fun. We got to choose from a variety of designs and colours for our beads, and even turned them into earrings where we could further customise the beads. The process was really enjoyable because the owners teach you with enthusiasm and patience! ^_^

In the short time we spent there, we could feel the warmth of the owners and their dedication to the craft. I wish I could’ve stayed for longer, but would highly recommend anyone visiting Kawaguchiko to attend one of their workshops!...

This is experience was super fun!!! They really walk you through making the beads step by step and produce amazing results. Make sure you bring a lot of cash since the experience costs 2k yen + an additional 1k+ yen for an accessory without tax included. Its a bit hard to get to but as long as you are ok roughing it on roads with no sidewalks then its only a 15-25 minute walk from fuji subaru land bus stop. The staff were super nice and spoke english really well too, actually when they learned me and my friend had walked there they offered to drive us to the bus stop which was super nice of them! I wish i had brought enough cash for more than just the workshop and accessory because all of their glasswork was super beautiful!!! I hope i can come back next time i come...

I had a wonderful time learning how to make glass beads. We called to make a same-day reservation, and the shop owners were very helpful in telling us how best to get there and even offered us a ride back to the station since the weather was not good.

The location is beautiful, set in the trees. It was snowing outside and very cozy; immediately we felt at home. The shop owners were sweet and friendly. They explained every step of the glass bead making process with thoroughness and passion. They encouraged us to have fun and enjoy the process, as they clearly do! In the end, I was able to make a cute pair of earrings✨

I would highly recommend the workshop and at least a stop at this shop to anyone visiting...
