Afternoon skiers beware. Bought an afternoon lift ticket and did the digital reception for afternoon rental equipment. We tried to get our rental equipment but we were 15 minutes too early to receive it and they told us to wait until 12:00. So we got changed while we waited and put our bags in the lockers. 15 minutes later we got in line for the second time only to be told they ran out of skis. Seems the digital reception is not necessarily a reservation per se. We got our lift money back but the ~¥3000 we collectively spent on lockers was unrefundable. The system they have in place is broken. Not to mention the hours we wasted going from and back to Takayama because the shuttle and bus routes are so limited. I've visited many ski resorts in Japan by bus and this is the first time I've had an experience like this. Very disappointed especially since a friend said the slopes here are really fun. Might never come back cause I'd rather go somewhere I can trust not to...
Read moreMy first time here on January 1st, 2024, overall nice snow park but one of the staffs was quite rude when I tried to return my snowboard at 4:45pm and definitely needs to address his attitude issue.
I admit that It was my fault for loosing the rental receipt, and the staff with red hair along with man bun hairstyle kept telling me I must have the receipt to return the board. His attitude was so rude and wasn’t helping at all. What do you expect customer to do if they really loose the rental receipt? I even showed him the rental reservation number on my phone.
With such a high quality snow park, I would expect better customer service and better problem solving skill from the staff instead of blaming and accusing the customers without providing solutions.
For the record another staff helped me out with the return but that guy with a man bun hairstyle definitely needs...
Read moreDespite warm winter there are still courses you can enjoy. It is nicer if you have at least learned the basics of snowboarding and skiing, at least just to avoid hitting other people. The place is big but it is also crowded. The restaurants are cool, there are variety of choices. The Takasu Terrace would have been great if they would not close before 3pm. We missed it!
For beginners, it would be great to purchase the beginners course lift to save money and just purchase 1 point lift if you want to visit the terrace.
For those who want to rent gears, I suggest you rent from stores before the resort to save time. It took 2 hours for some people to rent gears. It is a waste of time.
Overall, it is a lot a fun. I will definitely visit again, not just for a day maybe 3...
