This view captures an absolutely stunning and serene landscape, showcasing the natural beauty of Japan with the iconic Mount Fuji in the background. The contrast of the snow-capped peak against the lush greenery of the rolling hills and winding roads below creates a scene that feels both peaceful and majestic. The elevation gives a sense of openness, while the greenery and the road below hint at exploration and adventure. This is the kind of place that seems perfect for a tranquil escape, where one could soak in the beauty of nature and perhaps find some quiet moments of reflection. It’s truly a spot that inspires awe and invites one to pause and take in the incredible scenery.

The cost to enter Hakone Skyline is ¥800 and if you reach the end of the drive which takes about 30 minutes driving through is another toll for ¥270. Although quite beautiful to drive through with breathtaking views of Fujisan and Lake Ashi, not sure I would do it again. My favorite spot is Lake Ashinoko from Lake Ashinoko Tenbo Park but many roadside spots to stop and take landscape photos from.

If you are a biker like me, this is a great road to ride. I have ridden in from Hakone and also Gotemba. Recommend coming in from Gotemba on the 401. I rode early (8am) and except for a push bike or two and a couple of cars, the road was mine. The view from here is to lake Ashi one way and Fuji-san the other. Worth the toll payment.
