Sumiyoshi Shrine — Attraction in Handa

Nice shrine set on expansive grounds near Sumiyoshi-cho station on the Meitetsu Line. There is a big lake and wooded area surrounding the shrine. Rather unusually, for the past couple of years and until 2024, the Handa City Police Force have been using one of the buildings attached to the shrine complex as their headquarters while their own one is being rebuilt making this quite possibly the safest shrine in all of Japan. Cute goshuin available with a limited edition one including the stamp of the Handa City Police also available until next year.

名鉄電車の旅ですので、半田へも行きました。半田も地味な町です。半田は、ミツカン酢があり、えびせんがおいしいです。今回は、赤レンガ建物に行きました。住吉町駅で降りると近いです。住吉町駅は急行は停まります。赤レンガ建物は、期待したほどではありませんでした。近くに、池があり、神社があったのでよってみました。右側の鳥居から入りました。こちらは、入水神社と記名されていました。ところが、本殿前の鳥居は、住吉神社と記名されています。とても不思議な神社です。訪れたかいがありました。そして、舟渡りがあるようで、その舟倉庫に、入水と住吉と書いてありました。知多半田駅に行く途中に、龍台院という曹洞宗のお寺がありますが、こちら...
